    San Jose

What is the one thing you shouldn't miss visiting if you are in San Jose?
I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Miss everything in San Jose and head out a couple of hours north to Napa Valley.

Napa is over-rated, unless you go their for wine-tasting tours. San Francisco and Marin County are much better touristic attractions. San Fran has a lot of interesting areas and Marin (Stenson) has some of the best scenic routes and beaches.

I'll get back to you later on San Jose. Its quite bland actually. Downtown is tiny'ish, because all the high-tech companies are spread out. There are a bunch of Museums (Tech Museum etc), but unless you are a history buff or a nerd, you can skip all that. San Jose has a bigger population than San Francisco and is much larger in size, however San Fran has a history and an exquisite culture which oozes out of its every street. Plus its very picturesque.

          Its called Winchester Mystery House.

There are various theories about that place. One theory is that her husband died (and he was loaded, ofcourse) while they were constructing their home. Some voodoo witch told the lady that she should continue the construction, because once the construction stops, the lady will die. So the lady just kept on construction 24/7. Builders will keep building rooms and staircases (which go no where) and will continue doing all sorts of things with the house (its a pretty large place). The legend goes that at one point the lady stopped construction and promptly died right after that.

Now its converted to a tourist attraction. However, it sounds kinda boring so I have never actually checked it out. If you have time, you can surely check it out and give some more feedback.
