    What is a religion?

    What is a religion?

I am sure that a religious person must be honest with himself and the people surrounding him, and the surroundings. He must not find any justification for violence and killings. And, he must be a vegetarian.
(Ps, I do not follow any of above.)

I do not know for what reason these words were not appreciated by the bosses and a previous complete thread was deleted.

    religion

    Assalaamualeikum,

well Religion comes from a latin word Religio, which means to bind together.

I don't know if we should be vegitarian, however, in Islam we do see an encouragment to eat less meat. I would rather say we should become semi vegitarian.

Considering Islam, we all say Islam is peace and forbids violence.

we see the life of the Prophet Muhammad(sallallaahulaihiwasallam) whom I like to call "an Ocean of peace". Even in the midst of great difficulty and hardship, he was an ocean of peace.

            Assalamualeikum.
actually, we must never forget that Islam is a way of life, and not just a religion. Islam must permeate in all aspects of our lives.

              What is a religion?
A belief in a superhuman controlling power or powers.

If a person's religion wants him to then he must. It all depends on the religion he is following.

"Human"? I don't know why I feel a little uneasy with that. Perhaps "being" might be a better word.

Lets come up with a better definition of Religion.

                  Yes or No?

                  A heartfelt belief in God.
                  A feeling of utter amazement.
A longing to be with God.
                  A prayer to unite.

                  Because God is testing us.
Because God wants us to realize that we are all his children.
Not just Muslim. Not just Jew. Not just Christian.

He wants us to know that we are his kids.

Part about being a vegeterian is healthy!

but I doubt God worries over that.

                    Do ya think?

What do you think is the most important commandment?

Something wrong with you or people you sit with. This is first time I am hearing this, to associate "Islam" with "Arab nationalism". Whenever I listen, read words "Islam" or "Islamic countries" all those countries come into my mind where Muslims are in majority.

i am not specific about any religen but people mix religen and nationalism. use religen as a political weapon.

Every one, Hindu, Muslim etc says that his particular religion is a path of life. Personally I am not interested in any purchase, whatever furnished marketing they follow.
Or it seems that religion is something a kind of political party. Am I wrong?

For any counter question, Hindu, Muslims or any, say Christian……starts giving explanations.
Does God really depend on your explanations?

It is nice to see that no one has any objection that a religious person must be honest with himself and with the people surrounding him. (I do not say that he must be honest.)

                          I do not understand a religious non-vegetarian.
How is it possible that you believe in God and kill his creation for fun and lust?

That is another thing that I do not follow any of the above, I accept this fact, it seems that at least I am honest with myself.

And what is a religion, we will talk!

If you have permission from God, then why not? And who does it for "lust"? Its just the diet, food.
