    my dad and roozey

    asalamoalikum

my dad recently after ramazan-ul-mubarak spoke to our imam-e-masjid and asked him that in his younger days he missed lots of roozey and he wanted to rectify this the imama-e-masjid sujjested to my dad to fast everyday and since the end of ramadan my dad has been fasting for
    about three months know.

I PERSONALLY DON'T BELIEVE THIS IS ALLOWED? SURELY NOT! but still could someone clearify this issue for me through the provocation of quran or the sayings of the holy prophet hazrat mohammed-e-mustfa (s.a.w)

i think, in my own personal opiniion, that fasting for 60 consecutive days + "tauba" is sufficient enuff for him....
Both Halal & Haram r evident but between them r doubtful things, most ppl have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from suspicious things saves his religion & honor, & whoever indulges in suspicious things indulges in Haram.

The following question & answer might apply to the situation that your dad (may Allah reward him) finds himself in:

        Question:

I am a young woman of 25 years of age. From the time I was young until I was 21 years old, I did not fast or pray because I was lazy. My parents advised me to fast and pray but I did not pay any attention to them. What do I have to do, knowing that that Allaah has guided me, and now I fast and I regret what is past?

        Answer:

        Praise be to Allaah.

Repentance wipes out whatever came before. You have to regret what you did, be determined not to repeat it, be sincere in your worship, do lots of naafil acts of worship such as praying naafil prayers night and day and observing voluntary fasts, read Qur’aan and make du’aa’. Allaah accepts the repentance of His slaves and forgives their bad deeds.
