    Living in a Christian Country

Many fundamentally messed up people argue over every little detail about non-Muslim traditions, holidays, and customs. My question to them is if there is no concession in your opinion about anything remotely associated with Christianity then is it OK to assume that Muslims by definition are not allowed to live in Christian lands? Under what circumstances it is allowed to live in a non-Muslim land (given that there is no famine in your own land, but everything else is available either in your own land or another Muslim land).

    Are there any Fatwas?

And are the conditions as prescribed to imposea shariah there?

To convert all the non-muslims to Islam? If they don't convert then to carve out an independent homeland?

I dont know if you carve out an indpendent homeland just because others dont believe the same as you do, but if you are persecuted, feel you dont have equal rights etc then why not.

East Timor, Eriterea, Bangladesh etc are examples of just that.

"Don't live in land of non-beleivers" is a conclusion by 'scholars'. It is not commanded by Allah SWT or Prophet PBUH. While "our" logic says that we should spread to the whole of the world and spread message of Allah SWT (Islam). But many a people move to other countries because of political conditions, economic systems, education etc.

I personally beleive that you should leave a country where you think you are unable to practice your beleif. If you feel that you can live as a good Muslim in US than Pakistan/India and you have opportunity to move then just go and move.

There are several 'scholarly' opinions. Most of them suggest that we should make intention (real one, not a fake intention) of spreading Islam (not our culture) when we live in "land of infidels" even if we go there for education, political, economic reasons. We can always preach to our class fellows, colleagues, neighbors.
