How many kinds of musical instruments were....

...available and used during the Prophet's time and what was the prohets reaction to its use?

Most people say that drums are allowed in Islam because the Prophet did not object when it was played in his presence. Is there any other incident in which the Prophet showed his dislike for any other musical instrument?

What about piano, guitar, violin, saxophones, and other instruments? Is there any evidence that the Prophet disliked these instruments (or similar ones available at that time)?

In Ahadith, musical instruments (without any exception) have been disliked. Why shoudld the drum be an exception?

Brother, Duff (tamberine) and drums are lawful instruments in Islam. Prophet Muhammad affirmed and adked lady ^aishah to use duff for Al-Ansar. And to use duff for a wedding. Imam ibn Hajar clarified the hadith mentioned in Al-Bukary about Duff (tamberine, drum shaped instrument) and said: "It is lawful to use even if there was no reason, and it's lawful for men and women to use Duff".

But that does not mean that the instruments which were not played in front of him and which were non-existant at that time are unlawful, does it?
