How come all the monotheistic prophets were born within a few hundred square miles from one another? Why there never was a Chinese prophet? Looks to me a kind of Middle Eastern conspiracy to keep the world under their thumb.

However the total number of prophets is more than 120,000, out of which just a few dozens are mentioned by name in the Quran. Plus, the guidance was sent to all people at all times (per Quran), so it is reasonable to assume that prophets were in all nations, but may be they were never accepted and hence there is no record.

mid-east monotheism is due to its envronment.
it is harsh desert. people saw only one thing
(mono) desert. weather influenses human thinking. christianity changed after
spreading to europe aquired colorful and fun-filled aspects like christmas tree
lighting easter eggs etc.

lineage of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) is Bani Israel and Bani Ismail not Bani Ishaq....
Israel was the "laqab" of Hazrat Yaqoob (AS) who was the son of Hazrat Ishaq (AS)...
secondly coming to Ahmadi's question:
All the prophets mentioned in Quran are those about which the people of that area where Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was sent already knew because of the history of that area...
The purpose of the hidayat was "Inzaar" (Warning) through the examples the people already knew....
There has been prophet everyhere, in every nation all over the world in any given period of time... they are not mentioned in Quran doesn't mean that they were never there...
Wama Alaina Illal Balagh!
P.S.>>> Prophet Muhammad(SAW) who came 1400 years ago was the last Prophet and only Hazrat Essa (Jesus) (AS) will come but as a ummati (follower) of the last prophet at the end of the world when the fitnah of Dajjal will appear!

So can we say that the prophets are those who get direct guidence from god himself.....means like what would be the critaris of being a prophet?
There must be some other way to distinguish them...other than the 12 or 14 names in Quran, who are the reast fo 1,23,986 prophets?بِن دانا پانی میں جی لواں
بِن انَک میں جی نہ سکاں
