Re: Danes face growing Muslim storm

    finally its on GS....
was wanting to post it here from long but wanted to see how long it takes before someone on GS realizes whats going on....

news from the arab world is that danish products r being boycotted....
no one is buying them even though some sellers have put the products on half price....
and i read somewhere that danes r really feeling the pressure cuz of arab boycott, especially from saudi arabia, who has even pulled out its ambassador....

wud be glad if someone from denmark cud report on how life is for muslims in denmark....
    sabah baji u around????
Both Halal & Haram r evident but between them r doubtful things, most ppl have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from suspicious things saves his religion & honor, & whoever indulges in suspicious things indulges in Haram.

Danish newspaper has already apologized for its mistake.

      Few points to ponder:
      1. Danish newspaper, the guilty party has a readership of 800,000 only and that too entirely in freezing Denmark. Guess how many ppl now want to go and read this stupid newspaper thanks to the Arab world?
      2. The same Danish newspaper has published satarical cartoons on Jesus Christ or Hazrat Eissa, what happened to Muslim sensitivities then?
      3. Arab states were quick to withdraw their ambassadors and announce boycotts of Danish products because of a cartoon. Why not the same moral stand when Abu Ghraib pictures were published? Why not call back their ambassadors from Washington and London for the Iraqi genocide?

These are political stunts to prove their Islamic credentials and keep their common ppl busy with other issues and not focus on the human tragedy taking place in Iraq or Palestine and may happen in Iran.

      Is Muslim blood that cheap?

the middle east Gov't acted most likely due to Public uproar. After Palestine, Bosnia, Iraq, and various other places; The Gov'ts are well aware that this time around the Public will just not let it go, Since it is a direct attack on Islam and Final Prophet (PBUH).

The middle east governments time is up already that is why the US terrorist army is there in places like kuwait, Saudi and Iraq they can no longer rely on their puppet rulers to get the jobs done because they will fall down like stack of cards very quick and what will replace them is what making the Squatter israelis and the US pants turn brown!

What will replace them is an implosion of the Islamic world. The Shia ( who have already established an Islamic system in Iran) will be having fun debating the nuances of Islam with the Sunnis and their Khalif. I wonder where Pakistan will weigh in.

Like I said in the thread on this topic in WA. It's amusing how an Islamic policy created to eliminate the possibility of idolatry has had the exact opposite effect. If there was a cartoon depicting allah as a terrorist, you wouldn't have heard a single peep from muslims.

Muslims feel more strongly about their prophet than their god.

I suggest you try it and find out. Plus, folks like you can always hide behind "my GOD" so I am just ridiculing God, not Allah in particular.
                          Weather forecast for tonight: dark.

The Danish newspaper is full of it.

                            They say:

"The 12 cartoons ... were not intended to be offensive, nor were they at variance with Danish law, but they have indisputably offended many Muslims, for which we apologise."

Nonsense. The reason for publishing the cartoon was to test the assumption that Danes were self-censoring when it came to Islam, so asked for cartoons depicting the Prophet (pbuh). They wanted offensive and controversial cartoons. Now they're surprised that it, *gasp*, caused a controversy?

They damn well knew, and there's no reason to accept this anemic apology. Promise never to do it again, and promise to condemn it. Declare it stupid and uncalled for. Declare it a major mistake. They won't do that. Nor will the Danish government.

They openly called for cartoons that they knew would provoke a response, and now want to back track in a face saving way.

                            1. Danish newspaper, the guilty party has a readership of 800,000 only and that too entirely in freezing Denmark. Guess how many ppl now want to go and read this stupid newspaper thanks to the Arab world?
Let them. The paper is in hot water. Heck, maybe an Arab will buy it and fire all the staff...bigots they are.

                            2. The same Danish newspaper has published satarical cartoons on Jesus Christ or Hazrat Eissa, what happened to Muslim sensitivities then?
Good point. All the more reason to come down hard on them. I'll say it again and again: being right half the time is better than never being right at all.

                            3. Arab states were quick to withdraw their ambassadors and announce boycotts of Danish products because of a cartoon. Why not the same moral stand when Abu Ghraib pictures were published? Why not call back their ambassadors from Washington and London for the Iraqi genocide?
Good point. But hold on a sec. One can't on the one hand (rightly) accuse the Arab leadership of not representing the interest of their people, and then blame them for acting out in this one instance where they actually ARE representing popular sentiment. This should be encouraged, and I hope the people realize that the government DOES care what they think, and that they can from time to time be taken to task.

This isn't just a case of governments being a bully to a small Eurpean country...this is in the Muslim government's best interest as they really DO want to do business with the Danish. The boycott is a consumer led one, what can they do about that?

Does this make the leaders heroic? No, far from it. But they did right for once.
