a traitor for christians wud be a christian....
similarly a traitor for hindus wud be a hindu....

ur question/comment is very ambigous and sorry to put it this way, absolutely senseless....
Both Halal & Haram r evident but between them r doubtful things, most ppl have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from suspicious things saves his religion & honor, & whoever indulges in suspicious things indulges in Haram.

Hypocrite has to be a Muslim while traitor could be of any religion!
Gari aur bivi aisi honi chahyay kay banda saath khara ho to apni lagay

Ya Allah Bhagwaan ko bhi Muslim bana day ...

In Islamic perspective a Hypocrite would be one who pretends to be a Muslim; whereas a Traitor would be one who aligns himself with the Kuffar against the interests of Islam and his fellow Muslims.

          i would rephrase it as

A Traitor would be one who aligns himself with the Kuffar against the interests of Islam and his fellow Muslims knowingly and on purpose.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. And like that... he is gone.

Even Fraudia's definition of traitor is too vague, because of the term "fellow Muslims". It does not account for the kind of traitor who renounces Islam and then aligns himself against it and Muslims.

An example of this is George Castriota, otherwise known as Iskander Bey or Scanderbeg. A 15th Century Albanian prince, he was raised as a Muslim at Sultan Suleyman's court, but later renounced Islam and frustrated the Uthmani plans on Albania for the rest of his life. This man was a traitor, without ever striving against "fellow" Muslims for he was Muslim no longer.
Muslims are so good at dividing that they can divide the atom. If you see two Muslims, probably they belong to 3 parties.

Thank you for your input and sorry for ambiguity

I was wondering why we see so many people in islamic countries, placed in commanding positions, working against the interest of their people and Islam. The ratio we see is very high in muslim countries compared to other countries following different religons.

The typical answer to this is conspiracy theories, that west controls the world and jews and bla bla.

But the problem is ke muslims had considerable amount of traitors and hypocrates from the begining.

A Traitor would be one who aligns himself with the Kuffar against the interests of Islam and his fellow Muslims knowingly and on purpose
I may be wrong but i think there is not much difference between a hypocrate and a traitor. When a hypocrate get some power, he becomes traitor.(from islamic point of view)

All the Rulers in the Muslim countries are five star Dictators/Despots/Tyrants. None of them have come to power with popular mandate but with foreign blessings. Once in power they want to prolong it for eternity, so surround themselves with like-minded sycophants to perpetuate their rule. And if they have to be traitors and betrayers to their fellow country man in this personal cause, so be it.

They are ‘smart enough’ to realize that serving the interests of ‘powers that be’ will keep them in their [powers that be] good books will go a long way in their personal ambition.

They become so gullible to the propaganda of their own sycophants that they start believing that they are indispensable to the national cause!

`Auf bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The best of your rulers are those whom you love and who love you, and those who supplicate Allah in your favour and you supplicate Allah in their favour. The worst of your rulers are those whom you hate and who hate you; and whom you curse and who curse you.'' It was asked (by those who were present): "Should not we oppose them?'' He said, "No, as long as they establish Salat; as long as they establish Salat in your midst.''

I may be wrong but i think there is not much difference between a hypocrate and a traitor. When a hypocrate get some power, he becomes traitor.(from islamic point of view)
True. Just like a tadpole has to grow into a frog.

In other words he is for good reasons, (Spy, Secret agent, Detective). It means he is doing Taqqiyah' for the benefit of Islam not hypocrisy to detriment Islam.
