    My daughter asked "War?"

I don't know if this is the correct forum to ask this question?

My daughter asked me yesterday, " Is there going to be a war?" "Are we going to war?"

She said, "Mom I have heard rumors, I don't know what to think?"

She said, "My friend who is a volunteer in the national guard is trying to get pregnant because she is afraid of being called up for overseas duty."

She said, " I'm taking an Asian Studies class right now, and they talk about Muslim's".... but I still don't understand what is going on.

She said, "War? I mean.. WWI was the Great War..was supposed to be the War that ended all wars? All of it is so stupid! I don't get it!"

    meantime...
Her Uncle is being sent to Saudi for a year at least.

How can I answer her questions?

    Help Needed.

Well this is what you should do:

Get a hot cup of coco for yourself and her, sit down and tell her the truth that "Honey, you see, we are running out of oil. You know what that means? It means mama can't drive to work, or pick you up from the soccer practice, and you wouldn't be able to drive to the malls with your friends. Don’t worry, it’s going to be quick and easy, the Aaarabs wont feel a thing. Everything will be over in BANG!"

      p.s. Got oil?

      p.s.2 Full of Blood?

      p.s.3 Jesus Loves you.

            Possibly!

She said, "Mom I have heard rumors, I don't know what to think?"

To think that this war is immoral, it will annihilate a nation of innocent iraqi's, according to Christian beliefs this war is unjust.

Damn right outrageous, tell her the truth AAG!

how old is your daughter? if she is old enough to take a class about asian studies i see no purpose in discussing the topic with her. anything you say to her in an effort to calm her emotions will be useless. she probably knows whats going on, if she doesnt its sad you didnt teach her the facts of life before. :

if your daughter was 2 years old, id say:

there are some people in the world who are bad, sometimes it is best to stop these bad people before they make the good people bad too.

ofcourse, i disagree. this war is more of a bad vs bad. and yes, aslong as bushy and his clan are in office, war is coming.

There is a article in Time which addresses issues of talking to kids about war
