    Establishment's Game

The establishment always wants to rule with a "King's Party" as the front. PML-Q from Mush's era has frittered away and PTI isnow playing the role of the king's party. But PTI may not be able to win at the centre and Imran Khan may not be as pliant as the establishment wants.

Their real plan is to engineer a take over of the PML-N by the Shahbaz Sharif/Chaudhry Nisar wing and have it function as the king's party. PTI is just being used to effect this transition.

"NAB had approved filing four references in line with the SC order on Monday, but decided not to file a reference regarding Hudaibiya Paper Mills, reasoning that the case had already been decided by the Lahore High Court."

Establishment doesn't want to create hurdles for Shahbaz Sharif.

Senior PML-N leaders are pushing back against this and urging Shahbaz Sharif to stay in Punjab as Chief Minister.

    Re: Establishment's Game

^^ Not far from reality. The truth is that under NS and SS leadership, PMLN is now invincible. We already see that in LBs, By polls. Problem with NS is that he messes up with Establishment. My problem with that is if you are messing up with establishment that stand up but He chickens out, for example, punishing Pervez Rashid, Mushaid, Nehal etc. If he wants to mess up with Establishment, he should stand up and bring force of parliament or dont do it. SS on the other hand, is not charismatic or connected with voters as Nawaz but is pragmatic, politically savvy and looking for rule with in means. Same goes for Nisar. Where as Confidants of NS like Asif/Rafiq are also confrontational. I think its time that NS either stand up use the alliance with small but potent forces of Baluch / Pushtun (achkazai), PPP to make Parliament very strong and in your face to establishment or become King maker and go for President rather than being PM. Its time to pick one side and stick with it. Either will be giving up something and gaining. I like him to go after establishment and cut it in size.

If there are foreign players involved, which I think is the case..they will create a legal issue against SS also. When you have so many foreign vested interests people hardly get to choose their leader. Although this stuff makes the Sharifs appear as victims and will enjoy the full sympathy of people. Also he stepped down in a real classy fashion. It sure was a sad day for democracy.

^^ Well all the issues are confined to ones who dont show muscle. Once you start showing your muscle , get people out, start creating a charged environment the players run away because last thing they want is instability and reduction in Ratings, expensive financing etc. Had N league got the people out and created a charged environment, these idiots would have give up but as Asma Jehangir said, N league played by the book. They really didnt expect these judgets to be this idiotic. It wont happen. You can already see the NS is charging crowd and creating a sense of defiance. It will simply grow from here on. NS for all his wrongs is still a Stateman and possess better stature than any one else. He is the only one who did get Separatists Baluchies on table and in political process, forge alliances with and bringing them on table like Achakzais who command tribal loyalty. A free NS (no longer PM) will be very dangerous as he has already started showing his skills of connecting with people.

NS has to come back no matter what but now in the process its clear that Parliament needs to amend 62/63, bring Judiciary and Army under NAB as well, he has a great reason to do so now and numbers to follow up.

Shariffs have a lot to lose, they are billionaires and they cant go on to risk all their wealth and family safety. When the foreign players get involved then even lives are at stake. I am sure he was delivered some kind of persuasive message. His departure coincides with the US policy change and we know that status quo was not an option.
