Re: Now this is funny, PTI secretariat sealed over tax non-payment

If the payment of dues was pending on PTI's office, Shahbaz Sharif shouldnt have ordered it to be opened. Why preferential treatment for some? The treatment should be same for all the local public and the ones holding higher positions. It was not Shahbaz Sharif's personal money, but the tax payer's hard earned money.

^^ You want Jail road to be blocked???

But yes you are right, who the hell SS is to give them special treatment... but as far as i can remember, even if DG excise or other high level officers is satisfied that you'll pay your excise tax within some time frame, then they De-Seal the property... all they require is guarantee... but again this facility if still exist, should be for common man, parties and known personalities should act in more responsible manner...

Not that I am against this action if pti hadn't pay the tax. But I am wondering if the tax authorities raided and closed other offices, businesses on jail road that are in near vicinity of pti office? Or every office building, business around pti office on jail road had paid all the taxes they owed?

If they didn't check for tax payments for othe businesses in area then that might just also answer that the head of tax department in Lahore was once an an avid fan and perhaps participated in Sunday's Bagh e jannah league cricket in 90's.

PML-N using mean tactics, says PTI

Last Updated On 22 November,2011 About 11 hours ago

PTI says PML-N govt in Punjab is using cheap tactics against Imran Khan.
Addressing a news conference regarding sealing the PTI Secretariat, key leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Sarfraz Cheema, Dr Yasmeen Rashid and others said that opponents would be taken on in the political arena.

They claimed that last day of payment of property tax was November 30 but PTI’s office was sealed on November 22, which is the clear evidence of governments’ bafflement due to rising popularity of the PTI.

How many corruption scandals will you need to match people's parties blitz? 20 billion rupees in rpp alone, scandals in fertilizer and LNG worth billions as well. Corruption was always there in pakistan, agreed! But people's party has taken corruption to a new level (corruption ki mairaaj) and as a result the country to a dead end. Which thing can be done in Pakistan without giving 10 %? Look at the situation of railways, pia, ppl and pso. It's a mixture of mismanagement/inefficiency and corruption.

PTI has officially not only denied this fabricated story by a stooge of PML-N but also showed the media the proof of payments that had regularly been made. Not a single penny was outstanding, this was all a PML-N ploy to show the public that they are very kind.

This is what PML-N will do, I am sure we will see a lot more as elections get closer, PML-N trying to clutch the straws even if they are fake/false.

Deadline was given for 23.11., but offices were sealed 3 days earlier! Taxes were paid within the limit (on 22.11. I believe) and offices were re-opened. I commend tax department for taking it seriously and I also commend PTI for paying there taxes in time!

And I hope PML-N, PPP and others will follow suit.

This has infact created more respect for PTI!

I say, the thread starter (hanibal) must have moral courage to congratulate PTI for paying their taxes fully within the legal time frame.

And also he should encourage his party to follow PTI in this.

After all, PML-N loves to copy whatever idea PTI starts,

I found it hilarious when PTIans speak about morality..

anyway, you need to read the whole thread before making such statement...

PTI is the one who has been ranting about tax and assets all over the Pakistan and yet they have to wait for the last day to pay the tax??? the last /due date on the tax form/bill is not there to wait for it, it is the time limit you may have, in which you have to pay the tax and being the tax friendly and tax-supporting party, it was moral obligation of PTI to never by any mean go close due date... and why, just to lead by example, that We the PTI pay our taxes on time and there has never been any occasion that we have come close to this kind of situation.

And trust me, if you have little knowledge of excise or any better knowledge of excise and taxation then Mehmood ur Rasheed, you might have never said these words here, because Mehmood ur Rasheed would have gone to the court for the defamation suit against the Punjab Govt and excise department and if you think you are master in this field and PTI is innocent party, then what is stopping you for suing the govt???

Now that is what I call hilarious!!!!

You have proof right before your eyes that PTI has paid its taxes fully and within the applicable laws and you are still criticizing PTI for that?

Why it is so hard for some people to give credit where it is due?

BTW, I can speak only for me and I have always given credit to Nawaz Sharif for Motorways.
