Now this is funny, PTI secretariat sealed over tax non-payment

When it comes to payment of taxes and assets, PTI and its leadership have BIG mouth... now the funniest part is, its own secretariat is sealed over for not paying the tax... this is the CHANGE...

LAHORE: The excise authorities sealed the main secretariat of Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) located here at Jail Road over non-payment of property tax Tuesday, Geo News reported.

According to excise department sources, the step was taken due to non-payment of Rs350,000 tax amount despite multiple reminders issued to the party office. Therefore, the authorities resorted to seal the main secretariat of PTI at Jail Road.

its not that funny if true...

but the good thing about this matter is that it seems that the tax authorities have started doing their work now, I hope now they will start pinpointing others who have been evading taxes as well...

        ^^

Not only tax authorities, all govt servants have to do their work in its true spirit, we criticize politicians and army day in and out but we do not talk about the civil servants who have the prime responsibility to follow the constitution and reject any un-constitutional order/direction by anyone...

The funnier part is, the taxes and assets is the major point PTI raises all the time... in urdu one would say, Chiragh Talay Andhera...

yes you are right about PTI...

anyways, I have had to deal a lot with the tax authorities and its never a pleasant affair. My father's clinic was made in a non commercial house, but now the commercial area has reached right upto that. I tried for a couple of years to have it commercialized but they just wouldnt do that, and after every couple of months a so called tax agent would turn up (demanding some bakhshish but i wouldnt entertain him). I used to think about the country and the tax department that even if people want to pay these guys dont want you to pay.

So true! and all this just to force people to use tout services or to go negotiate BAKHSHEESH for them...

Once when i was being forced to pay bribe, i said to that officer, that i'll only bribe if you say that you will owe my sin of paying bribe as well, because i am on the right side, i don't have to pay it but still i need to pay it because you are CHOOR...well he never said that but he sure does made my life as a hell...

So I take it that PML-N has paid all of its taxes? and that no tax payer money was used on the sunday jalsa in faisalabad?

Whether or not the tax payment issue is true, i have no doubt in my mind that this is selective targeting of PTI by the Sharif gang. First it was the Shaukat Khanum labs that were closed during the dengue epidemic, then the road blocks set up to sabotage the PTI jalsa at Meenare Pakistan...and now this. I think the average person knows very well whether the tax authorities have actually started doing their work, or are they just doing selective work here.

I remember last year, tax authorities targeted Actress Meera for not paying Property Tax. This happened to PTI office this year, because Meera is probably in USA to attend Reema's wedding.

Not bayaan baazi.....Im just saying that this is targeted victimization, based on their differences with PTI. There are plenty of other offenders who owe lot more. Not that that makes it right for PTI or anyone to not pay their taxes. However, PML-N needs to be a bit more subtle in its vindictive moves.
Secondly, there is a difference between non-payment/delayed payment of taxes, and evading/cheating on your taxes. PML-N is known for its huge debt write-offs, and tax write-offs. It doesnt absolve PTI from its obligation to pay up on its property though.

So you are saying, PTI did paid the tax and yet the office was wrongfully sealed??? if this is the case, then it is straight away defamation case... why don't PTI opt for that and tell every one in media that see we had paid it and all was propaganda...

Im not saying they paid their taxes. Im sure there is some truth to it, which is why their office was sealed (rightfully). What I am saying is that PML-N is specifically targeting PTI, and is on a witch hunt, because the Sharif's reign is loosening on Lahore in particular, and Punjab/Pakistan in general.
Pakistan's tax to gdp ratio is around a low 10%, and undoubtedly there are plenty of fish out there who are guilty of non-payment. PTI offices were rightfully sealed, but the hundreds and thousands of other offenders should be booked as well....and the fact is that they are not. The PML-N seems to be concentrating solely on PTI, and i feel that the general public can see right through this selective attitude.

Nothing need to said after that... a party which preaches tax payment and bla bla bla is failed to implement itself... that is all.... first practice and then preach is general rule which if not applied normally result in the situation we have above...

and imagine what old thugs joining PTI would do... when the SAAF and SHISHAAF current PTI office holders cannot sort out such thing...

rather reading stuff only on pti forums will not give you a clue what actually happened.

                              1) SKH labs closing during epidemic was right decision, when all of province labs are doing cbc test for Rs. 90 why the hell SKH is asking for special treatment. Imran Khan was crying about going to Hight Court on this issue, did he went? Nope he has just a big mouht.

                              2) PTI Jalsa would not be possible if Punjab government doesn't provide full support for it. If they want to sabotage the Jalsa they can just turn off the main electricity, rest will be done by panic. Again your claim have no basics.

                              3) As far tax stuff concerned, so what if they didn't payed the taxes. Actually as of now the office is opened after the direct interval of Shahbaz Sharif.
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.
