Gaza on brink of humanitarian disaster - UN

This is what we expect from Zionist evil ideology. These occupiers believe in collective punishment. A non-Zionist is like an animal to them, whose suffering they neither feel nor care about.
Zionist ideology is mirror image of Qaeda ideology.

I wish American stooges in several ME countries listen to the voice of the Muslim suffering under Zionists and use their influence on West.

INTERVIEW-Gaza on brink of humanitarian disaster - UN | International | Reuters

AMMAN, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Gaza faces a humanitarian "catastrophe" if Israel continues to prevent aid reaching the territory by blocking crossing points, the head of the main U.N. aid agency for the Palestinians said on Friday.

Karen AbuZayd, commissioner-general of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), said the human toll of this month's sealing of Gaza's goods crossings was the gravest since the early days of a Palestinian uprising eight years ago.

"It's been closed for so much longer than ever before... and we have nothing in our warehouses... It will be a catastrophe if this persists, a disaster," said AbuZayd, whose agency is the largest aid body providing services to Palestinian refugees.

Israel closed the crossings after Palestinian militants responded with daily rocket salvoes to an Israeli army incursion on Nov. 4 into the Hamas-run territory, where a five-month-old, Egyptian-brokered ceasefire had largely been holding.

At present, UNRWA provides rations for 820,000 people classed as refugees and the United Nations' World Food Programme aids a further 200,000 people, AbuZayd told Reuters in Amman.

"They often bring us to the brink but they never have let us really be frightened about whether we are going to have food tomorrow or not," AbuZayd said.

Israel had restricted goods into Gaza despite the truce, which calls on militants to halt rocket attacks in return for Israel easing its embargo on the territory.

"This time throughout this whole truce since June none of us have been able to bring in anything extra that would create a reserve so we had nothing to call upon," she said.

She said people were sweeping warehouses because there is now nothing in them.

Israel also held up deliveries of European Union-funded fuel for the power plant, which generates about a third of the electricity consumed by Gazans. The rest comes from Israel, which was continuing supply, and Egypt.

UNRWA's food basket, which comprised nearly 60 percent of daily needs, including milk powder and sugar, had run out, AbuZayd said. Most of the flour in mills would be consumed by end of the month.

Ailments associated with insufficient food were surfacing among the impoverished coastal strip's 1.5 million population, including growing malnutrition.

"There is a chronic anaemia problem. There are signs that's increasing. What we are beginning to notice is what we call stunting of children ... which means they are not eating well enough to be bigger than their parents," AbuZayd added.

The humanitarian plight of Gazans was by far the worst among the more than 4.6 million Palestinian refugees across the region.

"They are not just under occupation, they are under siege," AbuZayd said. (Editing by Giles Elgood)

Amman - Jordan's King Abdullah II on Sunday issued an impassioned appeal to the European countries and other world powers to put pressure on Israel to ensure a 'speedy' end of the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, according to a royal court statement.

During a meeting with the European ambassadors, the monarch 'urged the world community to move swiftly to ensure a lifting of the Israeli blockade and re-opening the Gaza outlets to allow the entry of food and humanitarian aid to the Palestinians'.

'The continuation of the siege will lead to a humanitarian catastrophe with destruction proportions,' the king told the EU envoys.

Abdullah also directed his government to send 'immediate' aid to the Gaza Strip to alleviate the sufferings of the Palestinian people, the royal court said.

Because your apartheid friends in Zionist state fear that opening the border with their stooges in Egypt will allow Hamas to get weaponry, and convert Gaza into, G_d forbid, South Lebanon.
Gaza is under siege, including its Egyptian border.

Israel has said that the crossing point between Gaza and Israel will remain sealed, despite calls from the United Nations and human rights organisations to restore access so that Gazans can receive essential supplies.

Israel sends tanks into Gaza - Times Online

Navi Pillay, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights called the closures a “direct contravention of international human rights and humanitarian law.

              http://www.middle-east-online.com/english/?id=28894
Meanwhile, in a separate interview with Democracy Now!, Darlene Wallach, a US citizen in Israeli detention, also criticized Israeli policies in Gaza.

“Israel has violated the ceasefire from day one; before it even was created, they were violating it. The ceasefire supposedly was going to lift the blockade and allow goods and services and food and fuel and that kind of thing, and Israel has never lifted that blockade,” noted Wallach.

The American activist also highlighted the plight of Palestinian fishermen under Israeli military fire.

“When the fishermen go out to fish, Israel navy comes and shoots at the boats. They use high-pressure water power; they have a water cannon that they shoot at the boats that damages the boats, injures people. They’ve cut the cables. The fishermen have lost their fishing nets,” said Wallach.

Wallach also referred to the suffering endured by Palestinian farmers in Gaza.

“On a daily basis, the farmers who try to go out and farm their fields get attacked. So, Israel created this buffer zone, 300- to 500-meters wide, along the whole length of the Gaza Strip. [The Israelis] demolished all kinds of crops, homes, wells. And in the crops, it was like citrus, dates, olives. Any kind of crop they had, it was all demolished. And farmers now are trying to go back out and start, you know, planting their fields and being able to harvest their fields,” said Wallach.

“And even just standing out there in the fields, where it’s just farmers, obviously knowing with any kind of military—no militants, just farmers, just people trying to tend their fields—the Israeli military comes by in their jeeps and gets out and starts shooting,” Wallach noted.

Drawing attention to the seriousness of the fuel shortage in Gaza, Wallach said: “the flour mills are having to shut—the last flour mill shut down, because there’s no fuel. I mean, if people can’t buy bread, what are they going to eat?”

The Israeli blockade is also preventing Palestinian students from studying abroad.

“There’s 500 students with scholarship that can’t get out to go continue their university education. And there’s 3,000 students that are accepted to universities, that they’re losing their administrative entrance into the universities, because Israel will not allow them out,” said Wallach.

Wallach concluded, “258 people have died, because Israel refuses to let them out to get medical care.”

Human rights groups, both international and Israeli, slammed Israel’s siege of Gaza, b*****ng it “collective punishment.”

A group of international lawyers and human rights activists had also accused Israel of committing “genocide” through its crippling blockade of the Strip.

Gaza is still considered under Israeli occupation as Israel controls air, sea and land access to the Strip.

The Rafah crossing with Egypt, Gaza's sole border crossing that bypasses Israel, rarely opens as Egypt is under immense US and Israeli pressure to keep the crossing shut.

Is the 2 year old making political decisions in Gaza?

I am not blaming the 2 year old but the buffoons who run Gaza and don't think about such consequences when they lob their fire crackers into Israel.

You are an imbecile and a degenerate who cannot comprehend such simple facts.

Collective Punishment is a war crime. Plain and simple. There are no ifs and buts about it.

Also regarding the border. Even if Egypt opens its side The side controlled by Israel has to be opened as well. That has never been opened.

Well, these Zionists don't consider Muslims any worthy of being considered human-beings. We should never expect any just thing coming out of their mouths when it comes to Zionist occupation. They are what Pundit Nehru was to Kashmir. Just like him, they forget all sense of humanity and justice when it comes to their illegal occupation of foreign land.

Keeping this in mind, they can never agree to a just solution to the occupation.

Abdul-Nasser Al Ajrami, head of the Association of Bakeries in the Gaza Strip, reported on Saturday that all bakeries in the coastal region resorted since Saturday morning to grinding “secondary wheat” which is used to feed the birds and certain animals.

As the unjust and illegal Israeli siege emptied the Gaza Strip from the basic and fundamental needs, including wheat, food products and medicine, the bakeries in the Gaza Strip had to fine-grind the secondary wheat in order to bake bread.

Al Ajrami stated in a press release that “Gaza bakeries had to resort to bad wheat, used in feeding birds and animals, in an attempt to provide the residents with bread”.

All bakeries had to stop working two days ago due to the absence of wheat. The bakeries also had to stop working due to the power blackout and fuel shortages which forced more that 25 bakeries to shut down.

On Friday, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon demanded Israel to open the border crossings and allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

He expressed sorrow that Israel ignored a similar previous request. Ki-moon said that the situation in the Gaza Strip is on the verge of a disaster.

Funny, During EID Palestinians demolished the border wall and got supplies into Gaza from Egypt

Is the Egyptian authorities so incompetent that they cannot let in humanitarian supplies and stopping the flow of weaponry?

Israel was willing to give up all the territories it conquered during the 6 Day War and Arabs rejected the offer

                        Arabs have a image problem

                          Let's say they are incompetent.
But I think you agree with us that Israel's siege of Gaza is collective punishment, immoral, illegal, and racist.

They think they are supermen because Prophet Muhammed was an Arab
I think Jews in general are racist people, who think they are God's chosen people. They consider themselves supermen.
