    Musharraf regrets 1971 excesses...

Where the events and war of 1971, East Pakistan's "War of Independence" or "War of Cessation" from West Paksitan...

"DHAKA: President Pervez Musharraf on Monday regretted the "excesses" committed during Bangladesh's 1971 war of independence against Islamabad, but called for burying the past in the spirit of friendship. "Your brothers and sisters in Pakistan share the pains of the events of 1971. The excesses committed during the unfortunate period are regrettable," Musharraf wrote in the official visitors' book after laying a wreath at the National Martyrs Memorial outside Dhaka, dedicated to those killed in the war."

What you fail to remember is that the Bangladesh saga was initiated and incited by India itself.

The good thing is, that Pakistan and Bangladesh have settled their differences, and are willing to move forward, by taking the right steps.
Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan by birth, but they were incited into cessation by Indias malicious advantage taking of the racial divide that existed between East and West Pakistan.
Kashmir was never a part of India, and was invaded and illegally occupied by them, in order to gain strategic advantages over Pakistan.
The two scenarios are not comparable at all. Pakistans president has had the guts to express remorse for the sad incidents of 1971 in Bangladesh. I still have yet to see a single person arrested after the Gujarat massacres, or Kashmir gangrapes and extrajudicial killings.

Indias practice of state terrorism will bear 'fruit' sooner or later.

akief racial differences will always favor indians since pakistanis punjabis and rest of the people of the indian subcontinent
are too wide to be erased by religen.

              Oh please.

Initiated by India is such a lame excuse.

West Paksitanis could not accept a dark skinned Bangali as their leader even if he was democratically elected.

It is soooo easy to move on for you guys after killing 3 million people.

And then you have the gall to call Indian actions as "State Terrorism"

Why can't you guys accept responisbilty for your actions?

Can you name how many Pakistani generals have been punished for their role in the genocide?

Tikka Khan lived comfortably till his death recently and was even honoured by Pak Army.

When you guys kill millions, even then it is India's fault for "making you guys do it".

              What hooey...

I doubt anyone here will justify the results of the 1971 war.... as you can see after the war a commission was set up... and the the people who were responsible were named.... by the way it was Gen. Niazi who had the command of the army during 1971.. and he was jailed upon his return to Pakistan.... nevertheless.. I will agree that that was perhaps the darkest history of Pakistan.... But why do you guyz not look into India before critisizing Pakistan... have you even set up a commission for Gujrat.... forgot how you killed the Sikhs in there own holy place... Kashmiri you butcher them each and every day....... why don't you indict your own criminals before telling us what to do.... Pakistan has never committed atrocities even close to those of India... and we shall never do it... because we have a free press that jumps all over the gov't when it does....

Indians and bangladesh is kinda like "mud-dai sust, gawah chust" scenario

and it was not just "dark skinned" people killed by the army that we should be talkign about, but many peaceloving non-bengalis who were slaughtered by bengalis, and led by India supported groups like Mukti Bahni.

I know of many cases where people lost life and property. I know of people who lost loved ones and everything they had worked for when Hindu mobs attacked them after partition, who moved and crafted a new life for themselves in east Pakistan and then it was deja vu for them.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. And like that... he is gone.
