    Info needed please

    asalam alaikum,

I was wondering if any guppies could help me. I am part of a women's NGO based in the US and we want to fund secondary or higher level education of women in Pakistan in these cities:

    Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta.

Could somebody please suggest names, and if possible contact info, for some solid and trustworthy NGO's in these cities that we might be able to work and coordinate with?

I know of some basic ones like Edhi, Sos village, but don't have any real information.

    Thanks.

There are several well reputed organisations dealing with primary education.
    1) The Citizen Foundation: This is a well reputed organisation and has a good record of work, but it is restricted to Lahore and Karachi.http://www.citizensfoundation.com
    2) DIL; this is a relatively new organisation and is based in the United States, it operates mostly in Punjab and NWFP targetting deprived areas. http://www.4dil.org/welcome.htm
    3) A Smaller organisation I have worked with, is ACE it's based in Peshawar and targets education, and helping Afghan refugees. You can contact it's director on
[email protected].. just tell him zak gave you his e mail address if he asks..he's a great guy, very hardworking and his work has been aprreciated by UNICEF.

If you want to look around for some more places
    try this link http://www.net-ngo.com/

    I hope this helps!!
How can a man die better than facing fearful odds for the ashes of his fathers and the Temple of his Gods?

APWA is the womens association, I don't know much about their activities, the Agha Khan resource is better known and has had some major successes in Chitral and Gilgit, if it is the same place I have heard about. Do a search for it and Raasta in the net-ngo web site.
If you have anymore questions don't hesitate again..
