US Woman Goes Missing In Pakistan

How true this news is? I haven't heard anything like that from U.S Media yet. A young woman is missing and U.S officials ain't giving her name out

WASHINGTON: A young US woman has gone missing in the Pakistani city of Karachi, scene of a string of recent attacks targeting US citizens and interests, officials said Wednesday.

"A US citizen was reported missing in Karachi," said State Department Deputy spokesman Philip Reeker. "Our consulate in Karachi is working with local authorities on that matter to see if we can find out any more facts."

The woman, who cannot be named due to US Privacy Act restrictions, went to the city on June 13 on her own to visit someone, a US official said later on condition of anonymity. The official said it did not appear that the woman's case was similar to that of US journalist Daniel Pearl who was abducted in January and subsequently murdered, and it was not clear if foul play was suspected in her case.

It is not known exactly when she disappeared. US citizens have been advised by the State Department to avoid traveling to Pakistan, as it appears they have become targets for radical groups opposed to or targeted by the US-lead campaign against terrorism.

On Friday, a car bomb exploded outside the US consulate in Karachi killing 12 people. Last month, a car-bomb attack targeted the Sheraton hotel, killing 14 people, including 11 French nationals.

      Well if it is true

then you can expect the entire pak army the entire pak police will be looking for her,

If it was a pak person missing how many of the military and police would be looking then.

P.T it is because she works in a U.S State Department and they have their own policies in handling issues.

Like you, I also haven't heard any news like that from CNN & USAToday.

if this news is real,it will convey the message to the world that pakistan is no more safe for foreigners.already its name hasbeen tarnished to a great extent after pearls killing and bombings targetted on foreigners.

religious extremists in pakistan are playing the card of terror and it is ad to note that pakistan has become a roost for them...

Police found her. She was 25 years old and came to Karachi after a falling in "e-love" with a Karachi guy. That guy was already marreid and he rented her a apartment in F.B.Area.

Police has handed her over to USA consulate.

Shows how they think that a woman dying or coming to harm would actually bring them joy!
