    Do you know the reasons?

Last year just before I went to Pakistan in March, one Mufti was shot down in Karachi. He was a learned person and wasn't involved in any politics or anything. He was offered protection but he refused saying that if it's written then I would die and vice versa. Police hasn't managed to caught the culprits behind his killings and now the death of Dr Ghulam Murtaza is very tragic news. As far as I am aware these people were not involved in any sectarian or national politics. They were respected by all people from all walks of life.

I just can't understand why people would want to kill such a nice person. Do you?

Frankly, Faraz Mir may not be that way off the mark in his posting. It just may be that scholars who are not taking sides are being eliminated. That has been the case openly in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as far as I know.
