BENT UPON NOT TO DO PERMANENT GOOD

A Dead dog fell down in a village well. Dirty water was removed and fresh water came refilled from surface. Villagers were happy their problem was solved. An old wise man told them “fools, the dead dog which was the cause of disease is still there, remove it first”. It appears we as a nation are bent upon that we are never ever to do a right curative thing rather are firm on our belief “suppress and do one off immediate adhoc relief”.

The Minister of Interior the other day inaugurated NADRA’s “Swift” Centre at Karachi where NICs will be made “with speed”. The point is should we had swift centres or should we concentrate to see why in NADRA’s normal centres cards were not being made swfitly and should had taken steps towards that. A few months back a Punjab Government Minister told press that in order to provide better education to masses at par with elite schools a new system called “Excellent Schools” will be introduced. No one could ask the Minister why the existing schools can not and should give “Excellent Education”. A new bank in the name of affording facilities/loans to small businessmen has been made recently. If we were really honest to help small businessmen why instead of making a new Bank, system was not corrected where HBL, UBL, ABL, IDB etc could give loans to small business. First Women Bank had done the most wonderful real job helping poor people to establish cottage industry. Why not to encourage and help this First Women Bank to extend its role rather creating a new bank.

District level ombudsman system is being introduced. Federal & Provincial Ombudsmen established at huge expense are already dealing with public complaints at district and even village level. They have regional offices. Then why to establish new district level totally a new inexperienced ombudsman system at a new expense. Why not with only a little fraction of that potential expense open small offices of Federal & Provincial ombudsmen at district levels?

But bureaucracy cannot allow to do the right things like making existing NADRA centres making speedy cards, existing school churning excellent education, first women bank extending its role, existing ombudsmen opening small offices at district level etc because by doing this no new senior level new “chairs/seats” can be “created” for retired or young dear ones.

because there are a lot of stupid students who hold the class back...

this way the smarter kids will have a better chance of getting decent education... and actually getting out to do some good for the country. rather than being a "lakeer ka fakheer".

      blackzero,

it is not entirely true. r u implying that all children in elite school r smart? No, some r just dumb as children in KMC school, but they r there because a hefty sum was paid by their parents.

Elite schools r good because of their better scientific way of education.
