It is not allowed for the government to privatise KESC and other power companies

On the 5th of May, it was reported that Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz had confirmed the privatisation of KESC and the power-generating companies of WAPDA to meet the conditions set under the Energy Sector Reform Loan Programme of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). As a prelude to the privatisation of KESC, both the government and the administration of Sindh have been working diligently to make the operating position of KESC profitable in a bid to attract foreign buyers. This consists of clearing outstanding arrears, raising the price of electricity tariffs and providing gas instead of furnaces oil to make the plant much more efficient. The real beneficiaries of the ADB program will not be the ummah, but foreigners, especially the kuffar. Firstly, the money generated from the sale of KESC and the power-generating companies of WAPDA will be handed to the IMF in order to reduce the debt burden. Secondly, all future revenues from these plants will go to the new owners of these companies, likely to be western multinationals. Thirdly, it is envisaged that the adopted taxation schemes for the energy sector will favour only foreign investors – enabling them to take entire profits out of the country to strengthen their own economies at the expense of ours. Fourthly, the new owners will be able to set tariffs without any government interference, thereby, increasing inflation and the hardships suffered by the ummah. One only has to look at Hubco to realise the future, privatisation will bring. These public utilities are not the properties of the Musharraf government, but belong to the ummah. Islam has decreed it unlawful to privatise public assets and has demanded the state to protect and manage them for the benefit of the ummah.

WB favours dictatorship in place of democracy to protect its reforms
Recently, the WB stated that if favoured the establishment of a National Security Council (NSC) coupled with elected representatives to see its reforms through. By issuing such a statement the WB fully realises that the NSC headed by unelected Musharraf will have the final say in any piece of legislation put forward by the National Assembly - hence undermining democracy. This should come as no surprise as the West and their institutions readily compromise their ideological call to democracy when it conflicts with their interests. America the leading western nation calls for the implementation of democracy in Muslim countries like Turkey, Pakistan and Nigeria, but remains silent when it comes to monarchies such as Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries. Currently, the US government favours a NSC with a toothless legislature and has been lobbying actively amongst congress, IMF and the WB for increasing aid to Pakistan to protect its interests. The Muslim ummah must realise that our rulers are only concerned about looking after the interests of the kuffar. Whether the regimes in the Muslim world are dictatorships, monarchies or democracies they are all kufr and serve only the Kafir colonialist powers. The only way the ummah can practically rid these rulers and the system of kufr implemented upon them is by re-establishing Khilafah State.

Eliminate Riba or the kufr system?
The Federal Minister for Religious Affairs said that out of 22 laws contravening Riba eight had been made compliant with Shariah and efforts were under way to eliminate others. Once again the government is trying to appease the ummah by attempting to Islamise the economy. Our history in “Islamisation” should have taught us by now that changing individual laws within the kufr system does not deliver an Islamic State but only helps to prolong the rule of kufr in Pakistan. Islam forbids Muslims to engage in the partial implementation of Islam whether in government or otherwise. This is because such actions consent to the mixing of kufr laws with a few Islamic laws and at the same time ignores the implementation of a multitude of Islamic laws. Furthermore, the seerah of the Prophet (saw) indicates that he (saw) always implemented all of the shariah that had been revealed to him (saw), and he (saw) never postponed implementation of even a single order from Allah (swt). Unless the kufr systems are removed from our lands, Islam will never be able to flourish. Demolishing these systems of kufr and replacing them with the Khilafah, will ensure that Islam is applied immediately and comprehensively
