The best service of the country is to leave it and earn foreign exchange.

The current ecnomic situation of the country is not promising.Pakistan is one the largest exporter of brain.Majority of people are thinking it as a negative attitude. But i think this is the best service for the country at the moment as the job situation in the country is not good.People can go abroad and send lots of foreign exchange to the country.Government should promote the jobs abroad.

That is a very disappointing comment indeed.

Granted working abroad brings in foreign exchange, but it does not do a thing for the infrastructure of Pakistan. Most of us, me included, are 'guilty' of being abroad, and the motives are the same. Earn money, quick and easy, and 'escape' the corrupt atmosphere of Pakistan.

The primary reason for people leaving Pakistan is to send back foreign exchange, but how much of that is transferred legally for it to affect Pakistans economy? And besides, the basic motive behind someone going off to a foreign country is usually to get settled there and eventually bring over all their family as well. So the underlying motive really is to deprive Pakistan of one source of foreign exchange.

Regarding improving the situation in Pakistan, the only thing that has hurt Pakistan is that we are experts at passing around the blame. If we dont want to do it, we blame it on our predecessors, or the corruption, or just anyone else, as long as the blame is off of us. The fact is, we share the blame. And we should share in the responsibility of rebuilding and reformation as well. Yes, foreign exchange will do good for Pakistan, but attitude reformation, and basic characteristics like discipline, control, faith, and honesty dont need money to survive. Apart from that, we can invest our energies in positive areas like educating people, reducing illiteracy, making basic health facilities available to all, and keeping our cities clean. We can not always lay the burden on the government without taking any steps on our own. We all are guilty of that.

Akif, very true analysis as this brain drain is not helpful to the country at all. Country is loosing money, talented people, and the ever increasing uneducated masses are more prone to sectarian and violence.
