GEN.MUSHARAF'S GOVERNMENT IS VERY SUCCESSFUL IN CREATING HATERED FOR PAK ARMY AMONG T

Pak army used to be loved by the common people especially in Punjab.Inspite of many ecnomic hardships people paid much for the defence/army in the form of taxes and never asked about the audit of that money. The poor handeling of "Kargil issue" by the previous government enormously increased this onesided love.
But for the last one year or so the army is being critisized openely in the public. The same people start hating their own army so much so that there are incidences of fighting betwwen army jawans and common people and even with the students. The top army ranks may not be involved but the behaviour of junior officers with the civilians is totally not acceptable.Such behaviour was not seen even in the long army rules of Ayub and Zia.The situation is even worst in smaller provinces. The scenario is very alarming. Are we heading towards another Bangla desh?

Relax Dr gugu....one or two incidents does not the whole sytem make.

Is it so hard to see that this government has more approval ratings than any 'democratic' government we have ever had? The only 'problem' if you must, with this system is that its not a complete Martial Law, hence you do not see imposition of laws at gunpoint. There is so much freedom in this current regime, even more so that we have had in our 'democrazys', that its hard to imagine the army is supervising all this. And that is exactly why Gen Musharraf has gotten such high approval from the international community.....something that was thought to be impossible.

Anyway....Pakistan is on the right track. Army is there for supervision, and making sure that laws and applied and imposed, and noone gets away with breaking it.....NOONE. The confrontations that you witnessed might very well be politically motivated. Look at the overall picture.

          Dr Gugu,

When army whos job is to pretect coutry and its borders involve in domestic problems and runnig the country then you always get some hatred by some people.

As far as clash with students, its not new during elected govternments the students used to clash with police etc and In Pakistan the political parties use students and students union to make some unrest in country. However I think the recent clashes could be attributed to NW as I read some news that he is trying to fail Gen. Musaraf and his govt by ordering from outside the country.

I don not think the this incident points to another bangla desh. There is only one country who want to create another bangla desh in pakistan, and that is India.

Pakistan army is not only protecting the borders but also trying to solve the problem. I am not saying that Army is 100% honest. Even countries like UK and US you not find that army or govt. is 100% honest BUT they are better then rest and people of pakistan still their army. Thats why India never like Pakistani army and keep spectulating stories about Pakistan army.

            CM,

            Dil Behlanay Ko Ghalib,
            yeh Khial Acha hay

Same stupid arguments put forward in late sixties and early seventies when people like you said "We Will Change the Bengali community by fornication". Alas! that did not happen, instead Pakistan did break up and suffered humiliated defeat by Indians.

I donít think Iqbal's "Pewasta Reh, Shajar se umide bahaar rakh!will ever work here. Logically Pakistan is heading towards another disaster!

you and your cyclical loser mentality. You cite lack of 'logic' for others, yet lose grip of that very characteristic when you make a comment of your own.

If you are blind enough to acknowledge any improvement or progress that Pakistan has made during this regime compared to any of your beloved democratic ones, then good for Pakistan that your not in control.....and neither is your pig crap benazir....or any of her waderas.

Pakistan is best without all this garbage. That said, you can say whatever you please. None of it means squat.

I am a strong believer that our survival is only and only in the integrity of Pakistan but we can't remain indifferent to our surroundings.Let me tell you another attitudinal example seen in Faisalabad where army is busy in construstion of roads(no doubt healthy activiy). The people regardless of their age and education were forcebly made "MURGHA"on freshely constructed road just to make sure nobody cross the road.Is this the right way to teach your own people a lesson?
