way bigger theft goes on in india.. in fact, if theft is controlled in india, all state govt. electricity boards will suddenly turn profitable. maharashtra has 30-40% theft. of course politicians and beaurocracy get the share. sell these electricity boards to anyone who has ghundas on their payroll and see them becoming efficient overnight.

Imposition of shariah law is meant to bring people to task for their misdeeds, whether its power theft, or some other crime. How is imposition of sharia related to power theft? A law is a law, whether harsh or mellow. If imposed properly, it gets the job done, whatever it is. The difference between conventional laws and shariah laws is that shariah laws are balanced and based on justice for all. The majority of Pakistanis are Muslims, and they know what shariah laws entail. So there is no need to ease shariah into the system. Its not as if we are talking about non-muslims here who dont have any idea about what shariah is.
