Pakis managing A-I flights at Chicago airport
NEW DELHI: People of Pakistani origin are handling Air-India's
arrangements at the O'Hare Airport in Chicago and the airline has
expressed concern over it, the Lok Sabha was informed on Thursday.
During the visit of Director (Security) of Air-India to New York and
Chicago last year, detailed discussions were held with the station
managers and ground handling agents (GHA) on the matter, Civil Aviation
Minister Sharad Yadav said in a written reply.
The GHAs had pointed out that keeping out US nationals with origin from
certain countries could have grave legal implications under the US law
which could amount to discriminatory practices but assured that as far
as possible they will try to keep out people of Pakistani origin from
handling Air-India flights, the minister said.
