    Why was Karachi made capital?

After partition, why was Karachi made capital of Pakistan, why not Lahore since it has always been an administrative centre for centuries, during mughal and british rule? Why was the location of Islamabad chosen as the new capital, would have not been better to base it in the centre of Pakistan,so it is accessible to everybody?

Dear CM, Ranjeet has got a serious question which should be dealt in the same way.

Dear Ranjeet, though it's not a very important question, yet you are replied. Karachi was selected to be capital of the new-born country because this city which was the hub of all political and social activities at that time. Moreover, most of the business also used to be conducted from the same city which had made it more developed than others.

But General Ayub Khan felt and thought otherwise. For him, Karachi wasn't an ideal place to be the country's capital thanks to the same factors which had earlier led to its selection as the capital. Karachi was densely populated and the management of the city's civic affairs was poor. Just like Indian government had to develop New Delhi, out of Delhi.

That's why mountainous suburb of Rawalpindi was spotted and was excellently developed for the purpose. By luck, if you ever happen to visit the Pakistani capital, you will see it looks like a capital.
