    Finally we have some justice for the one of the greatest shames in Pakistan's constitutional history - the storming of the supreme court by PML thugs (and forced removal of the the then Chief Justice Saajad Ali Shah).

    Seven PML stalwarts awarded imprisonment, fine by SC:

    ISLAMABAD, Sept 28 : The Supreme Court has awarded one month imprisonment and Rs 5,000 fine to seven Pakistan Muslim League stalwarts for storming the Court building on November 28, 1997. In case of non-payment of fine, the contemners will have to undergo one-month additional imprisonment. Those awarded punishments are ex-Parliamentarians Tariq Aziz, Akhter Rasool, Mian Munir, Ch Muhammad Tanvir (already in prison), Akhter Mehmood, Shahbaz Goshi and Sardar Naseem. The Court has also ordered inquiry by IG Police on an appeal made by the petitioner to make Pakistan Muslim League a party to this case.

        Ghalib the punishment is pathetic I admit but its good to finally see these bunch of thugs found guilty of terrible act of 'rowdyism' or demolition of one of the three pillars of a consitutional setup i.e/ the Supreme Court. It was a national disgrace how Sharif and his mobsters committed such a heinous act including the overthrow of one of Pakistan's greatest Chief Justices - Syed Saajad Ali Shah...
