A person who is a dictator of a country or
A person duly elected by the people of the country?

Democrat or dictator - if his people see that he is doing good for the nation they will respect him ...

Like people respected Zia and others before that. Sadly for Pak, respect is coming out of gun in this case. Its like that story of a baba which one of you once told, villagers respecting baba and baba keeping a gun with him so that villagers keep respecting him.

dhir - a bit like the emergency rule under Indira huh? or maybe the storming of the Golden Temple? or the hunting down and killing of 70,000 Kashmiri's etc etc - has that made Indians respect the "democrats" of India anymore ?

Malik, you make me laugh. Emergency is parallel to the situation in Pakistan but the response of people was not (I am not sure you know all this). So you see people wanted democracy.

Storming of Golden Temple was a political (and not religious) miscalculation of Indira Gandhi. Bad for her that in the end it had a complete religious colour. And a large majority criticised her for that and she definitely would have lost the next elections but was assassinated before that.
So you see nothing to do with democracy unlike Pak.

Reg. Kashmir, it is the terrorists who are not allowing democracy to roll in and not the government. If today the terrorists stop violence, tomorrow there will be elections and there will be a government chosen by the people, there may be corruption or violence in the process, but that is not something which cannot be handled or overcome. So you see again it is not the same as what is happening to a neighbour.

DON'T COMPARE. If you have guts, challenge your CE and ask him to face the elections, if people love him, he will win, what's the problem. So you see again that Sadhu with a gun commands respect in Pakland.

              Sadhu,

If your question is aimed towards Pakistan, then I am sorry you have asked the wrong question. This country has not seen the real damocracy since independece, therefore your question is kind of "Bhains ke aagay been bajana".

Kid once again you just don't seem to get it.
Pakistani people are happy with the CE.
So why don't you take your own advice and deal with India alone.
Also if i were you i would worry about you own democract drug taking crippled leader!!!
Leave the Pakistani issues to the Pakistani people!!!!!!!!

Indians loved the "democratic" Nehru-Gandhi family for 45 years and we love the CE... simple as that!

                      Chacha Malik 73,

When we travel with Pakistani Passport how respectfully authorities treat us on the Airport at the same time people who travel with American Passport, There is a big difference. Did you notice that? How do you feel?

Yeah but if you go to Africa or the Middle east with an American Passport - get ready to be robbed, mugged and sometimes killed in teh case of africa.
You have an american passport you are safe no where.

As for pakistan, we get alot of respect in the African countries due to the fact that we train some 25 countries diplomats in pakistan to become ambassdors.

After reading the replies from CM and Malik73, you must have now understood that why I said "Bhains Ke Aagay Been Bajana".

                            Sincerely,
