Indian students hang friend in hope of holiday

HYDERABAD, India (AP) -- Three students of a religious school in southern India are accused of hanging a friend from a tree in the hope that their school would shut down for a month of mourning, police said Sunday.

Police have arrested the students -- aged 12 to 14 -- for the death of 7-year-old Abdul Rehman who studied with them in an Islamic seminary called Baitul Uloom.

The Baitul Uloom is a residential school where male orphans or boys from poor families are given religious instruction, including the study of the Koran and Arabic, the language in which Islam's holy book is written.

The boys confessed to the crime under interrogation from police, said police chief P. Ramnarayana. They were the last people seen with Rehman and the first to inform the school about his death.

The boys reportedly told the police they took Rehman to a secluded place on the outskirts of the village on the pretext they would play hide and seek. There, they reportedly tied his hands and strung him up from a tree.

When Rehman did not return home, his worried family began searching for him and found him hanging from a tree, Ramnarayana said.

The incident took place Friday in Kudkuda, a village 120 kilometers (72 miles) east of Hyderabad, capital of Andhra Pradesh state.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. And like that... he is gone.

      you bet!

sometime back, a schoolkid in bihar, under 12 years of age, shot dead one of his classmates with a local made revolver (katta) and absconded along with his papa.
      Simple ain't easy.
