    This 23 March

First; a click on this website gave me a blood rush inside. the patriotsim hormones were stimulated by the presentation. Check it out with speakers up.

    http://www.majinnah.com.pk/

here's an intereting article by Quaid-e-Azam's aide Sharifudin Pirzada. A smart man himself. The article gives a good overview on the man Jinnah, his political SOPs.

    http://www.majinnah.com.pk/html_files/faith_article.htm
Quaid's message to the people of Pakistan was: "Search your hearts and see whether you have done your part in the construction of the new and mighty state. It is now upto you to work work and work: and we are bound to succeed. And never forget our motto: Faith, Unity and Discipline."

This special feature from The News for 23 March 2005 was some rich reading.

    http://www.jang.com.pk/thenews/spedi...2005/index.htm

These articles present a 3D perspective for us decades later.

This article from DJ by Gen lodi about Col S G Mehdi's trip to Lahore On Quaid's train is interesting. Col Mehdi is the famous officer known as one of the pioneers of SSG.
    http://www.defencejournal.com/apr99/quaids-train.htm
(Gen Lodi's question in the article 'why wasnt he promoted to general?' can be answered by the fact that Col Mehdi has been infamous for his involvement in the case of Maj (r) Mohd Akram Khan who was wrongly accused and court martialled out of some conspiracy by a fellow officer on charges of spying for India. Col Mehdi had mishandled the case.)

      Drafts of the Resolution document here;

      From Khurram Ali Safique's page.
(Khurram Ali Shafique is a renowned writer and researcher in history. He's also a playwrite-'Layla Majnoon' starring Ahmed Jahanzeb)
      http://khurramsdesk.tripod.com/resolutions.htm

      Jinnah (1876-1948): words into action
"We [the Muslims of India] are a nation with our own distinctive culture and civilisation, language and literature, art and architecture, names and nomenclature, sense of values and proportion, legal laws and moral codes, customs and calendar, history and traditions, aptitudes and ambitions, in short, we have our own distinctive outlook on life and of life. By all canons of international law we are a nation."

      Pakistan Resolution (23 March 1940)
"Resolved that it is the considered view of this Session of the League that no constitutional plan would be workable in this country or acceptable to the Muslims unless… the areas in which the Muslims are numerically in a majority, as in the North-Western and Eastern zones of India, should be grouped to constitute Independent States in which the constituent units shall be autonomous and sovereign."

                    Re: This 23 March

The greatest generation in Pakistan was the people of the 1940. Resolute, committed and brave. They had a dream, not only did they believed in that rather they acted on their believes and within seven years they created the largest Muslim nation on the face of the earth. These were the ordinary, mostly uneducated, unskilled Muslims under a visionary committed and pure leadership. They achieved their dream for a state that would protect their future generations and uphold their believes.

I pray to Allah, to give us the courage to be that resolute in our believes. Ameen

                      ^True minime,
and each time i look at the history, how things and ppl were and how they aren't now and how all should be, three words echo louder and louder each time, they appear to have such versatile applicability which makes them almost holy, and our ultimate loss has been in not holding the meaning and importance of these words close to our hearts and souls and as a result we suffer what we've been suffering since the day the man who said these words, the man who made Pakistan possible passed away.
                      Faith.Unity.Discipline
highly underestimated words, their absence from our lives the basis of almost all our problems.
God bless Pakistan. God bless Pakistanis.

What good are parades if Pakistan is failing for its citizens?

ON ANOTHER INTERESTING NOTE, how many of you know that Muslim League of India actually was formed in East Bengal in 1905? and look what it has become now.

To me it is very ironic as how muslim league went from a democratic, intellectual upbringing to being passed to indian upites, delhiwalas and eventually chaudhry who made it an establishment (feudal) party!!!!!!

A sad day (or maybe not for you?)?

Didn't Muslim League pride itself on being a muslim political party NOT a party of establishment backers, chaudhris, lotas..
