RAWALPINDI, Pakistan, October 14, 1999 (NNI): Announcing suspension of the federal and provincial governments [cabinets], a military spokesman Wednesday said the ousted Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, was busy in "insidious conspiracies" against the [Pakistan] Army.
"We have got certain evidences which prove that Nawaz Sharif was busy in conspiracies against the Army," the spokesman told NNI. He said that three major characters in this "insidious" conspiracy in the absence of the Army chief have been arrested. But he declined to name them.
