India, Israel to work towards elimination of terrorism
NEW DELHI, Feb. 9- India and Israel have decided to work together on eliminating terrorism in the international level and they also decided to bolster cooperation in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and health care to boost the bilateral trade between both countries.
This was stated by visiting Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom at a business meeting organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here on Monday.
Shalom said,"With the escalating threat of global terrorism, there is a need of closer cooperation to combat the terrorism. India and Israel should work together to put this element out".
"The bilateral trade between India and Israel has gone up from200 million US dollars to 1.5 billion dollars in the last five years. The sectors like pharmaceuticals, defense, biotechnology, and health care have witnessed multiple growth. But India and Israel have not explored full trade potential still,"Shalom added.
He further stated that both countries are looking forward to the further strengthening of diplomatic ties between both countries
India is Israel's second largest trade partner and the trade between the two countries has grown exponentially over the last few years. Enditem
