    how to make enemies u-turn

YES it can be done but whats the best way for pakistan to make any potential or realised enemies uturn any anti-pak plans they might be working on?

is the promise of early war by way of posture required?
    taking of more hostage nations?
acknowledgement of previously secret weapon systems?

or continueing the current path of continued paricipation in WOT, aswell as keeping nation strong, and hoping it all dies down with aid of financial crisis and such limitations ?

or is pakistan not under a broader attack for such measures to be required?

these are just examples but the real comment is yours

Being friendly is a great idea when we know what are we going to be friendly with. In the current situation, when everything which happens in our country is blamed on foreign hand, whom do we trust and whom do we get friendly with. Even our old friends, the Saudis seem to be interested only in the recruits we send for their version of Islam. Its time for us to build our own identity and stop moulding ourselves to please our so called friends. We are strong and we can handle the enemies but its these friends we have to be careful about.

i propose a link up with syria

just like during during hameed guls tenure as isi chief when india and israel attempted to destroy paks' nuclear reactor, it was threats that worked. now pakistan faces a much more broader challenge and a link up with syria (another threatened country) would, i believe, send the correct signals of devine retribution. yes, pakistan already has a military presence in saudi arabia with missiles and warheads ready but the political positioning of saudi is counter productive to the effect pakistan requires by having a middle eastern presence. a link up with syria will be the perfect reply for israelli presence in india and israelli influence on the political environment in which pakistan is a victim

israel would then be able to use its political muscle to ensure the safety of pakistan.

i would prefer israel over syria...
you know why remember urdu saying its better to have an intelligent enemy then a foolish friend...

now coming to the topic what i would propose we may not be able to absorb it because as a nation we are kind of impatient and want others to cleanup ...still...

stand on our own feet: stop begging start with what we have , build up from own home grown resources and by God there are ample.
although it would be very hard to bear as we are impatient as well but unless we dont suffer and dont know how to utilize properly what we have actually we wont be able to utilize properly what we get from begging...
this is only key for us.

Law and order: supremacy of law...

education: put more focus on education, specially technical education create more and more skilled workforce, when you have skilled labour in abudance new sectors would emerge itself... as of now we have shortage of skilled labour yes its true.

reduce energy costs: use thar coal reserves to generate electricity (its been yearssssss since its found but nothing done with worlds one of largest reserves), reduce electricity costs for businesses would help manufacturing sector.
                Manufacturing sector is key here..

agriculture: use modern method, increase yeild make your self self sufficient at least in that.

                and many more...

prince: a more comprehensive post from you is welcome, difference of opinion is good

junaid: your points are good but most are not really connected to this subject. please remember the name of this sub forum and therefor the context of whats being discussed. expand on your anti syrian link up theory, if you wish. or do you think a broad segment of the world community is not involved in the current destiblisation of pakistan and thus no policies to counter this are needed?
                  thanks
