On a serious note: Pakistan should make it easy for East Punjabis to use Lahore airport for International flights. It is closer to Amritsar and surrounding areas and much better facilities than Delhi airport.

If you fly low, like the helicopter did, you cannot be detected by radar, either civilian or military, since radars have a minimum detection altitude.

Since the make and model of all radars operated by Pakistan is publically available information from arms sales records, the altitude below which you need to fly to evade radar detection in Pakistan is known to all, including India. The reverse situation applies, since the technical specifications of Indian radars are known to Pakistan from the same sources. Arms sales are, simply, never particularly secret.

And during peacetime, anyone seeing a helicopter would naturally assume that it was not hostile and would not really question it.

If the border was tense enough for Pakistan to perceive a threat from India at this time, there would be additional air defence stations activated manned by personnel who would identify low flying aircraft and determine whether an airspace violation was occuring or not.

Nothing particularly suprising or worrying about this. Such incidents can only be expected during peacetime.

The paper claimed the ATC (Air Traffic Control) at Amritsar informed its Lahore counterpart about the "intrusion", perhaps to remind Pakistani authorities that their air detection system was faulty and vulnerable to intrusions

^ if that is true then what are we waiting for? pak should do something about this.

The most common systems operated by Pakistan Air Defence, are the Giraffe and Ladds Radar Systems, both are supplied through public contractors and any new equipment goes through the same process, however anyone reading Military technology Quaterly can find the specs of such equipment, what we need are better Air Defence Operations instead of Equipment.

Equipment is very important but so is the knowledge of how to use even the most basic equipment correctly, and i am sure The Pakistan army is capable enough to handle such trivial incidents.
