Yes Ramis I did read your most but that concerns teaching in IT. Though I am a very much computer literate person but my field is not IT it has more to do with social sciences. Moreover, I want to go back to PK for good so I want a job for at least two years of contract and I prefer to work with an International establishment there.

I would suggest the best route will be to contact some institutions directly. I am assuming you want to teach at university level but I could be wrong. I know GIK instutute in Topi has been expanding and are hiring qualified foriegn educated ppl.

where is hmcq when i need him, he has much more info on Pakistan based jobs, once he had posted a thread about Pakistan based NGOs etc looking for foriegn qualified Pakistanis.

                HMCQ..where are you?
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. And like that... he is gone.

                  Yes. Where is HMCQ
Fraudz I don't like to teach anymore it is a headache. I don't mind part-time teaching but full time…...no way. The idea of NGO sounds really good too and actually a friend of mine works with Action Aid in PK. But I would really appreciate if I can get links to such organisation on net….cause she has gone lost somewhere http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/tongue.gif

Hey, I have a perfect job for you, (unless its already gone by now).

It is administrating a top-notch computer institute in Islamabad. Fantasticc foreign affiliation. Pay will be quite good. Big group.

U can do part-time teaching if you wish, but not at all required. Administration is the key. I am assuming you have a few years of related experience and some foreign qualification.

If you are interested, send me your resume and I will forward it to the right person.

In Pakistan the jobs are always obtained through contacts and seldom through ads and never through job sites. Especially if you are looking for a higher management position.

                    Adios!

Thanks Pristine….your offer sounds very promising.
But as I mentioned earlier, am not a pure IT person but quite good at computers, that is to say I don't hold a degree or a certificate related to IT. I have got postgraduate qualification in Business Studies and couple of teaching and research experience as well…….what do you think is it going to carry me any far??????????

Can't say. I am not the one hiring! http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/smile.gif

I will forward your resume to the right person, though. They want a person ASAP and great IT knowledge is not a prerequisite. It is more like administrating the institute. But I guess they'd want some experience before entrusting someone. Still, the only way to know will be to submit your resume and let them do the thinking. http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/smile.gif

                        Don't delay it too much.

                        Ciao!

                          Pristine,

Out of curiosity, what type of package does a position like the one you have mentioned carry?

                          I'm keen to know.

Muzna, can't really say, as it all depends on the qualification and experience of the candidate and especially how much he negotiates http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/smile.gif

These are computer institutes all over Pakistan. For one in Lahore, they hired a PhD with 13 years of experience with another top-notch IT institute and gave him 150K per month, but that is an extreme case. For lesser experience or lower qualification it should be in the range of 30-80K. But I don't really know, so don't quote me on this, ok? http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/wink.gif
