need help with the web cam

we're trying to install this web cam by Ezonics on his computer which uses XP professional OS. I don't know during the installation processes it says to insert the XP disk as some files r missing but when we do it doesn't locate the CD or program it needs install and this the web cam doesn't work.
He called a technician and they said there is something wrong with your OS and would cost hundred bucks to troubleshoot.
I know the problem isn't that severe and we can fix it at home, can anyone help us out here, plz. Thanks.

it needs some specific files. can u tell me the name of the files that its asking for? I might be able to find em on my cd. if i do, i'll email em to you, u can save them whereever u want (preferably under wondows system dir) and then u can manually point the installation software to those files

the "he" i was referring to was my cousing, actully.

and thanx alot for your reply shehzad.. But we've fixed it. Had update XP, once done installation went like a breeze. But then we fell into another problem. Yes, the infamous XP Modem droping problem. He tried loging on no modem to detect. Then we had to find that freakin' utility disk and reinstall the freakin' modem. Freakin' thing took us two hours but atleast we saved a hundred bucks.
