Nope, to enjoy for real U ll need atleast a Radeon 9700 or a Gf-FX
Cuz the Doom3 tech demo did a bad 30 fps on the Radeon 9700.

And the game is stupid, zabardast images, but Carmack said that the AI wouldnt be better then o.a. Quake 3 or Unreal.
SO its only the images, and no smart game. ( a reflex tester if u like )

Yeh, from what I recall ... DOOM3 requires 'next generation' graphics card. That's John Carmack ......

I have the E3 demo of doom3 and it runs fine on my radeon 9500 pro just not with all the bells and whistles like pixel shading and all that stuff. Although if you cant live without have every single setting cranked up then 9700pro is the way to go. The demo has a built in benchmarking utility and i was getting decent fps.....compared to a friend of mine with G4Ti4600 and same sys specs. About the AI issue i think carmack was just being humble since even in the alpha demo the AI is far superior than in any other shooters to date. I have a strong feeling that by the time its offically announced the sys requirements will go and will require an upgrade...which will be completely worthit since this game will be another revolutionary leap for video games and once again led by carmack the genious.
