i just reformatted my computer less than an hr ago [and i dont wana do it again coz this is the second time in a week so plz dont ask me to coz it takes ages ]

its connected to the net thru cable broadband ethernet

jus my luck but now i've got that RPC problem where my PC gives me the RPC error and shuts down randomly

what exactly do i do to solve this?

i dont have an antivirus yet. i just installed windows. im downloading the sav installer file right now tho, hoping inshallah the comp wont shutdown before the file downloads completely net is slow so will take a while for it to DL fully.

khayr, plz anyone, suggestions on how to get rid of this RPC issue?

hmmm...can i not just like download the file, go into safe mode with networking, install, live update, scan

and that will take care of it?

do i have to follow all those steps on that link?

U need to turn off the restart function, (pehle parlain )
its easy after that

else i woulda gotten rid of windows i hate these virii that keep attacking the comp...i hate it

U can use Linux if u want, It shouldnt be a problem, all you need to find is a good distro :halo:

and 4 hrs? what are you downloading? A whole new windows install?


U can hold off the reading part, but get a faster connection aswell

i dono they say they dont support linux so thas why im sticking to windows [and my brother's already done research on this coz he wanted linux on his pc too, hes using the same isp so i know it aint possbl]

ofcourse its possible,
Ask genuine or Gizzy they can help u out with it

If they say they dont support it means: they wont help u install your connection.
But cuz already formatted ur comp, U can try some Linux distro

my brother was mentioning a certain complicated method using a slave or something but i dont wana go thru all the hassle. waise i wish they would come out with a more secure version of windows, aaj kal virii bohot zaada nai ho gayay?

a piece of advice
I doubt u have an original windows cd+ key

but install SERVICE PACK 2 from the Miscrosoft website
it has a a built in firewall and several good protections against virusses.

I must warn you, It ll take u a month cuz its kinda big

im gona jus go and get the pirated cd tomorrow but u wont BELIEVE this. pirated cd's r risky to buy coz many times they actually put viruses in the cd's yeah its true

jelain This should stop your comp of turning off after 50-60 seconds

Head to the Start button
Select Run...
type services.msc in the popup window
Select the Ok button to issue the command
Select the Remote Procedure Call Service from the list by double clicking it
Select the "Recovery" tab
The default for this service is "Restart the Computer" for all failures
Change each one to "Restart the Service"
Select the Ok button to apply the settings
