I am frustrated with my SONY DSC-P7, and am thinking about getting the Olympus C-730UZ, OR its sibling the C-720.

How is it? I had the C-3020 and it was great. Anyone have any personal reviews?

I have 700 which is great, so 720 or 730 should be better.

Just keep in mind one thing. Its has EVF in addition to the LCD. EVF is great cz it gives u all the info, but its bad in low lights. You just have to guess the frame, cz u won't see anything in the EVF either. Once u take the pic, then flash will show u if u were on target or not.

Plus don't use full zoom in indoors in low lights as the noise will be very visible. You will also need to fiddle a lot with manual settings to get the moving pic at night to come out ok. I was not able to get Niagara's "Festival of Lights" properly as we were driving along and all the pics got splittering.

But these are some basic photography issues (except for the EVF issue), which u will deal with in any digicam. So Olympus is no exception.

Unless u r dead set on 10x optical, then 720UZ (with 8x) is a good bet, cz its prices have come down somewhat. You can get it for $375 (+S&H) from here. Thats the lowest I have seen from a reputed seller.

Checked today, and its down to $349. These deals are rea rightl? Seems way toooo cheap. If you've bought from here pls tell me.

The G2 for intance is 1000bucks in canada, but at this place it turns out to be only 771. Almost 25% off.

the camera isnt bad, but there are better cameras out there for the price. the p7 takes great photos at 1024, but when u get into the max setting the photos have alot of noise. it isnt the worst cam, but there are better.

the reason i got it is : i needed the memory stick as every other electronic i have runs on it. and it has the sony reputation of customer service behind it.
