    I need help.

I can't figure out why after paying for a 3 year warranty for a PC you would have to wait 10 working days for a reload Cd to be posted and a further 5 days to recieve it ..

I really don't know why this should be although one word springs to mind.

    Con.

    And another..help?

These types of warranties are a waste of money since the technology tends to move so fast that typically within 18+ months the PC you had purchased is 'outdated'. My advice is to just go with the standard 1 year warranty coz if anything is likely to go wrong, its gonna go worng within the first few months and not 2 or 3 years after purchase.

its good to have a warranty. particularly for a laptop. i have to say dell has a very good customer service. i once spilled juice on my laptop :~) and it started acting weird. the keyboard was replaced and the whole process took a total of 3 days. not to mention each time anything goes wrong (where the laptop has to be sent to repair center), dell will pick/return ur laptop(w/o worrying about the packing).

i think standard brands offer 1 yr warranty for free or its mandatory.
I don't know where I am going. I don't know what for but I am making progress.

dunno what a reload cd is but customer service depends from provider to provider.

reboot/bootable cd makes a lot more sense. though its interesting that ppl in the uk call it reload cd.

DD, it takes 2 seconds to create your own bootable CD.

^ not if u can get it for free. and i believe the cd was mailed cause' the pc was not booting...and to create a bootable disk u need to have access to ur system.

they should have customer support who might be able to guide u. give them a call.

Heartbeat sweetpea. I did. I called them becuz the original problem is windows is not loading and they tried to fob me off with - 'there are certain short term solutions but best thing is reboot'..

And the WORST thing is they dont even have a 24/7 help line.

They ONLY open 9-5am on Mon-Fri. Isnt that JUST TOTALLY RIDICULOUS??????????

Right, tha'ts why the first thing anyone should do when their system is up and ready is create a boot disk, and keep it closeby
