February 15 - Intl. Day of Action Against War in Iraq

As some of you may know, this Saturday, February 15th is an International Day of Action Against War in Iraq. Rallies will be held in almost every major city in the world against the impending US-led war (ATTACK) on Iraq.

I'm posting info here about Toronto, and links for other cities/countries...

For Toronto, the Rally and March is from Dundas Square (the new Square at Yonge and Dundas) at 1:00 pm

    Speakers include:

Abdul Rehman-Malik for the Muslim community
Ken Georgetti, Head of the Canadian Labour Congress
Cathy Crowe, Toronto Disaster Relief committee
Jack Layton, leader of federal NDP
Kemi Jacobs, Canadian Council for Refugess
Judy Rebick, Toronto Social Forum, Rabble.ca

      ur welcome jalpari...

I figured most of us would be on our Reading Week breaks from Univ.
      - so one, we do have the time... and two, this is a chance to fight off the danger of becoming 'All Talk, No Action'.

I'm hoping to see a good crowd inshaAllah.

We are having one here too in London Inshallah.

Peeps keep an eye out for our banner, we are dedicating small part of it to you... it will read 'GS CREW' in the corner!

There is a peace rally in NYC on Feb. 15 and one in SF on Feb. 16. I urge you all to goto these peace marches if you oppose the war on Iraq. If you wont go it'll be assumed that you are supporting this war...Please get involved and make your voice heard....we must stop this war!

                        Cheers,
                        Naik

ps> o O here is the link where you could get more info about these rallies....

The BBC is asking people attending Saturday's anti-war protests who are carrying new combination camera/cell phones to relay their pictures to its newsroom at (44) 7970 885089 or email them to [email protected]. The broadcaster said that it hopes to provide coverage of the demonstrations "from a protester's perspective." It is also accepting photos taken with digital cameras. (It was not clear whether the pictures would be used only on the BBC's website or whether they would also be incorporated in its TV coverage of the protests.)

People, even though I am away and cannot be there to smack you around. Please don't litter infront of my building in NYC when you are havng the love in. I have to have a chat with NYA, a big NYC gov't exec. to, and smack him for giving the permit to march in my hood to a bunch of know not hippies.
