I don't know if any of you recall the story about 3 pakistani girls from Bolton, Manchester who were taken to a village by their parents and then were due to be forced into marriage ceremonies.
They took their passports and fled and were eventually put under British guard in Pakistan and brought back to England. One of the girls began working for the Foreign Office specialising in situations such as theirs( forced marriages ) and was recently awarded an MBE by the Queen for her work...
I've heard many a person ridicule them for being traitors etc ( they were in a documentary dissing their parents for being backward and how they really enjoyed going to McDonalds now etc ). And i've also heard people dismissing her achievement and showering abuse her way. Should we commend her/they for standing up? OR is she/they cowardly for choosing this way out ?
Reflect please.
