    Fate rubbish!!!

Whats this nonsense i hear about fate.

There was a women that died in the village giving birth to her daughter 22 years ago. She was my auntie. She died later on becuase she lost too much blood. My grandma says its fate. Allah had chosen her to die on that day and she did.

I totally disagree. If she had given child birth in hospital I am sure she would have lived because I am aware what hospitals do to treat a woman that is bleeding quite badly after child birth. Allah gives us the knowledge to chose right from wrong.

If thats fate what stops someone from smoking 100 ciggarates day and when dying of lung cancer saying " oh its in my fate"

I think the whole idea of fate is bull crap.

Well, death is pre-determined in Islam, if I'm not mistaken.

Fret: yes it is. Everyone will die.

What is not pre-determined is how long you would live.

I meant the actual time of your death. So yes long you will live is pre-determined in Islam.

somebody asked Hazrat Ali (RA) what r his limits and control over events.. Ali (RA) told him hold up ur arm..he did.again Ali (RA_ asked him to raise his other arm... he did.like wise he raised his one leg when told but fell when he was asked to raise the other leg too.. there r certainly limits to what we r capable of.. Islam tells us that every person has a definite length of time to live.. and that time is known to Allah alone but we live and strive all our lives.. our life depends on many factors , health, lifestyles and many others.. but when we die we thank God that whatever life he gave us it was God's blessing only...

So fret wizard, what stops someone jumping infront of a car and killing himself afterall death is pre determined in Islam.

What about the guy that gets murdered? if death was pre determined in Islam than surely the murderer has done nothing wrong..afterall it was already pre determined??? please think about this, it doesnt make any sense..

Pre-detemined doesnt mean all we do is pre-determines and we live like machines.. humans are creationes that have brains to use and decide about the path they will take.. ability to do right and wrong things..that is the reason hell and heaven were created and justice will be done about our actions.. Islam only states we have control over our actions but our lives lived by us is known to Allah beforehand.. along with our time of death since this time and space is for our reference not for God..

                    Wizard-01,

in this case, generally when things go out of control, ppl tend to blame fate. as there is nothing much which could have been done about it. what help would it do by blaming $#%^#^ and thinking of the if's and but's which could have been done to avoid what had happened. Perhaps this would further make the situation worse. Every one has his/her own way of venting out his/her frustation or dealing with such situations. bitter but life goes on.

on a side note, normally u strive to make ur own fate BUT if something doesn't go according to the plan then there are two things u can do:

*you didn't work hard enough/your approach was not right }or some other rational reasoning

*you can blame fate and assume that it was bound to happen and it was in your best interest

this can vary from situation to situation
I don't know where I am going. I don't know what for but I am making progress.

I think what heart beat said makes sense.

Dont get me wrong guys, I am a firm believer in Islam, but this one aspect I didnt understand, I intend to question my Islamic guide (Qari saab) and see what he says after he comes back from Hajj

                          perhaps this story will help....

one day Solomon The Wise (Prophet Suleiman pbuh) was sitting in his courtroom when one man came running to him and said "O Solomon, i saw a man staring at me in a peculair way and i am almost certain he was the angel of death, so please ask the air to carry me far from here so i'll be out of his reach". Solomon told him that he cannot escape death but he insisted that he'd feel much safer if he reached a so-and-so place, so Solomon ordered the wind to carry him there.

later in the day, the angel of death came to visit Solomon and Solomon asked him about the man. He said "i had the order to cease his life in just some minutes and i was surprised to see him here, cuz his death was written in so-and-so place. But he came to u and asked the wind to carry him to the set place and when his time came, the wind dropped him there and i put him to death"

                          Moral:
                          1) u cant run away from death
                          2) ur death will come in the time and place already written for u
Both Halal & Haram r evident but between them r doubtful things, most ppl have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from suspicious things saves his religion & honor, & whoever indulges in suspicious things indulges in Haram.

I have mixed feelings on fate and Islam, and i've come to the conclusion that fate is flexible with prayer and your own actions and effort.

I think if you try your best ot live a healthy life style, God might just lend a helping hand and extend your life for some more time...and then again He might not. I dont know how He works and why He makes the decisions He does, but what is the harm in putting the 100% from your side?
I believe in dragons, good men, and other fantasy creatures.
