    Why Sikhs hate Pakistanis ??

I donno y.. but when my good friend of years in the US Baljeet Singh - 6'4" tall and a clean shaved jat sikh gets drunk he starts abusing Pakistanis for no aparent reason.. he blames Pakistanis for '47 riots in which his grandmother and her mom's sis were raped and lost their life in Purana Qila, Lahore and all other things.. Next morning he makes sure to apologize too.. I mean in India there are so many different communities - but we Pakistanis share most with Sikhs - how much so ever object of fun or target of jokes they are - We have similar build and look, share the same language - Punjabi, all their gurus were born in Pakistan and we both love to have a beard , we Pakistanis and Sikhs are large-hearted..But y so much of hatred.. I think average sikh hates Pakistani to the core or doesn't like us to expect the most..

its because....most of them had to leave their land, at the time of Independence.

Have u ever seen the map of the entire Punjab. Indian Punjab is so damn small when compared to Pakistani Punjab.

Ans then secondly, all those people killed at that time. But the fact is, that these killings were goin on from both sides...Jab wahaan trains lashon se bhari hoi aati thein, to phir yahan pe bhi qatal hote the.

Unfortunate political situations.. some people (like your friend) where personally effected and hold an inbred resentment which is natural but defies logic.. so they keep it cooped inside.... and it only shows when they are drunk..

Help your friend understand that there were two sides of the coins and the political aspects. Maybe he'll understand ... Good Luck!

The interesting thing is that when I have a few drinks with my muslim friends from Pakistan we all hatch up schemes to bring the two countries together. To each his own..I mean the way they handle alcohol.

This is because of guy's families experience.. a lot of excesses were done by both parties at partition..but most of sikhs are friendly withg punjabis.. I have many sikh friends..

WELL I dont know about the pakistani side of punjab but you have to visit the indian side of punjab to smell the history and gerography of the place and the muslim domination of the past
at first impression its such a good place friendly people, fun loving people , people who talk loudly who are warm whoes hospitality is the best
when you visit the indian punjab you will find ruins of old mosques and muslim architechture almost every where. today the language of indian punjab i mean the script is gurmukhi but you can still find traces of urdu in rickshaws and old buildings
you will find gurdwaras which used to be once mosques
you will find old muslim women who were kidnapped and married to hindus or sikhs at the time of partition
indian punjabis are so much like the pakistani punjabis that if you just break the walls of wagah one will never realise that there once existed a border.
but under this there is this bitter religious divide there is unessary display of weapons. it may just take a spark to make things explode
there is a bitter history which sikh children are taught that muslims have persecuted thier gurus and assasinated thier gurus. but not informing the fact that it was a muslim akbar who donated the land where golden temple stands today and also the fact that it was a muslim akbar who started a religion called din e elahi which was for all humansand muslims on thier part ignoring the fact the its sikhs who rever a muslim saint called baba farid who was a muslims and its hindus who after marraige make it a point to take blessings from the muslim saint of malerkotla
then there are those old bones who still recall the horor stories of how muslims massacared them and drived them out of pakistan but ignoring the fact that more muslims died at the time of partition there is a collective amnesia about how muslims were also slaughtered in the trains and how muslim women were abducted.
in amritsar i was shocked to see that there existed a muslim locality just a stone throw away from golden temple. there are mosques all over amritsar and rest of punjab which are only inhabited by ghosts
yes its true that it was muslim rulers and mughals who supressed the sikhs in past but it was more of a political persecution and religion just became an excuse. whoever has the power never wants the weak to rise and thats what the mughals did they happened to be muslims thats true likewise even today the hindus are in power and they are doing horrible things to muslims and other minorities in india
hindus well they are not demons as some extremist muslims might paint them but at the same time there is a school of thought among hindus that treat not just muslims but other low caste hindus are untoucable
they wont eat at the hands of muslims?
hindus and sikhs accuse muslims of staarting the 47 riots when direct action call was given and likewise there are many muslims who have enough reasons to blame the other side
every thing is fine but it will just take a spark to explode
and thats what happenend in the past

Thats quite sad, but you cannot expect a believer and a non believer to be truly brotherly to each other. Deep down they too resent muslim rule of India.

Mo: Take it from this Indian. There are no bad sentiments here. Muslims are an invariable part of India. They are Indians. It is part of the rich cultural diversity of the country. Their DNA is not different from that of the hindus and sikhs. Because who ever came to India became Indianized. That is why their is such vibrancy to the Indian culture. Sab Chaltahai...that is why I can go to Jama Masjid and the Jain temple in the same day and feel spirituality in both. Ain't it a beautiful thing....

If the hindus and muslims had half the work ethic, the reverence towards congeniality, the elan with which Sikhs carry themselves they would be 25% better.

                    Chal,

Maybe you like me having grown up in the west dont really care too much, but Indisns from India-and we have plenty from university, can be as nice as gold, but there is a point where they start attacking muslim rule and so on and so forth. Idnians from India are brainwashed to think Islam is bad and muslims are evil and the destroyers of Hindu India.

Mo: those idiots are just as idiotic as the muslims who proclaim the righteousness of their faith. Idiocy is unversal like hinduisma nd islam.
