I personal think its great, marrying someone with a different background then myself would be cool, I learn from him and he learns from me. Islam is a great religion, it lets us marry whom ever we wish as long as their Muslim. And marrying someone outside of your culture is cool and would be great. I think so

Majestic, don't quote me on this but I think it's actually swaab if you marry outside of your culture/ethnicity.

Personally speaking, I'm all for mixed parenting aslong as the kid grows up in a stable and loving environment. Allot of prominent sociologists from the 80s/early 90s argued that kids of mixed parentage would grow up to be delinquents, as they wouldn't be able to relate to either heritage. What bull!

I mean, look at me. Both of my parents are of the same ethnicity - Pakistani (as much as it hurts me to say it ....) and I'm as delinquent as they come.

Mixed backgrounds are more enriching for kids growing up. It would be so boring if everyone was the same religion and ethinicity.

OK I have to agree with you on ONE part, same ehtinicty is boring but the same RELIGION is a MUST. Different religions are not going to work, the kids themselves would get all mixed up.

For "ME" as a Muslim, I would never consider marrying anyone BUT a MUSLIM!

To each his own..Maj. Since there are so many different ethnicity and the amalgamation is beautiful..so is religion.

Majestic, isn't religion a personal thing? Doesn't it make more sense to leave it up to the kid to decide what religion to follow?

biologically speaking, marrying outside your ethnicity increases the genetic variablity of your offspring and thus gives them better chance of survival.

My boys are mixed. We are always arguing over what music is hip: Indian Classical (mainly Tabla) or stupid rock and crap. Major fights I tell ya.
