excellent point. I agree...emotional intimacy is the preferred and much strong bond. However....physical closeness does not always lead to emotional...for everyone.

Physical intimacy or closeness, without emotions, implies a thoughtless, emotionless and "cheap" act on part of human being that treats human 'meat' as a commodity of lowest value.

Whether it is right or wrong to have a physical relationship is not something I am qualified to comment upon. However, I believe physical rerlationship without emotions is degrading and beyond basic principles of humanity. Anyone having a physical relationship without having emotions leaves one exposed to being labelled, something far less than an animal. As one belives, animals also function and operate within some defined parameters.

What do I prefer? Well, I leave your imaginatiosn to work that out.

Well, aside from what a dictionary may define it, I think common people's understanding and usage of this world is in sexual context. If you have been intimate with someone that would meen you have enganged in sexual relationship with that person. That's what I think it means in everyday usage.

Intimacy means different to different people, depending on one's past experience. It could be viewed at varying levels: personal, spiritual and physical.
