I hope that Chicago,s weather will be fine in April. Altough its hard to say. Its like Politics of Pakistan inconsistence,
totally unpredictable
and
always extreme.

I was just curious as to weather or not the people taking this trip have met before. I've taken several trips with close friends, and even those can be difficult and strain a good friendship. It would be interesting to see how a group of strangers react to one another on a trip.

Since all ppl involved are mature adults - it is hoped that there would be very little friction - if any. The program is also very flexible, so there could be two or more activities takeing place simulataneously depending on the preferences of the ppl with the possible exception of eating toegther

1. we need a hall in a local school campus - Can anyone take this action item.
2. we need atleast 3 locals to volunteer their cars to drive us around
- or if not drive us around then be there for emergency situations.
3. Atleast one person with a cell phone/ pager to volunteer his services,
so that stragglers & tardy ppl have some way to contact us.

We can all meet in hotel lobbies - if motels then no lobby.

Well we need a meeting place - preferably on a local college or univ campus.

- A big room in a student union or whatever
- where Halla Gulla is allowed aplace to meet and chat after dinner
or before - should be open after hrs.
- A safe neighno - A safe neighnorhood -- no downtown slums.....
- A place for things like sing -a longs or bait bazees...

- A place if it is starts snowing or raining in chicago in APR........
if outdoor trips are not possible....

the Fri eve dinner could be semi- formal since this is the
first time we meet. Everybody is usually on their best behaviour.
and we all look nice - everything incl dress code is voluntary.


SEMI-FORMAL -- ??? is anything but jeans and sneakers but dress code
is not enforced so i u wanna wear jeans and sneakers
so be it. Some of the girls were planning the pakistani
shalwar-kameez dress code.

Review :

An extensive dinner menu with almost 50 entrees is highlighted by a
number of kebabs, two huge lamb shanks dripping with a tomato-based
sauce and Fessenjan, a Cornish hen simmered in a sweet-and-sour
pomegranate sauce with finely crushed walnuts. If you're tempted to pass
on the Persian soup after noticing all the "doggie bags" (it's one of
two soup choices) don't. It's a hearty combination of kidney beans,
lentils, chickpeas, noodles and mint in a yogurt-based broth.

Once you figure out how to get to Navy Pier, the options are endless.
Take a boat ride, after all, there are eight to choose from. Amuse
yourself. Have fun and learn something at the Children's Museum; see a
movie at the IMAX; hear some jazz at the Skyline Stage; feel the wind in
your hair atop the Ferris wheel, or bike or skate all the way to the end
of the pier. Warning: all the fun will work up your appetite, so you'll
want to hunker down and eat something before you hit ththe shops.

Jack : Try renting the cars from a location outside the airport to avoid paying the airport taxes. These taxes can get quite high. Last time I rented a car from phoenix airport at 60/day and ended up paying 191 for 2 days.
