Kohalic is right, Barysh. A joke is not a joke when it offends someone and makes fun of someone's background/religion/nationality etc.

One needs to be really careful but we often ignore dat to have fun at others' expense

is there a particular joke that you are referring to? Joke should be light-hearted but if someone's feelings are being hurt or if people are taking offence then obviously it needs to be looked at.

There are Jokes, and then there are Jokes, but most importantly there are folks who are Jokes. Nothing wrong with Jokes, this too much political correctism is getting on my nerves more so than Xtreme. A best joke is when it is seriously funny and painfully thought-provoking. Sometimes, ethnic jokes go a little too far and they lose the fun that they are intended to create, even then, it is just a joke. Jokes should always be taken as a joke, if they are not, then they are not jokes. What I am saying is that your onion may be someone else’s water lily.
