bad hair days - female guppers would probably understand better.

Well I don't know about the rest of the world but we are having a major heat wave here in Toronto this week just as spring has sprung, close to 30 degrees celsius today and its done a number on my hair.

It has become extremely dry and frizzy and all over the place, its medium length, thick and wavy, I dont use gel or mousse because it makes my hair flat and it doesnt look good. Oil makes it oily and flat also, I like it with body. I do shampoo everyday, if I dont, it becomes flat and oily again, so....
    any recommendations would be appreciated.

    Salaam.

    Redkens' Glass ....works wonders

i dont like frizz eaze waghera they are too heavy,
complicated to use (as they require you to blow dry your hair which is damaging hair more)
and they weigh down hair, so if your hair is thin then ugh

Nah, Aston's become too gorrafied of late. I'm happy with my Small Heath and Alum Rock.

It really depends on the length of your hair. Personally I dont like my hair to be fluffy, because it looks like a desi-afro. So I prefer keeping it short also in accordance with fashion style here in US.
If the climate is not complimenting your hair, you might wanna cut em a little short to avoid frizziness and dryness. And wait til it gets better.

If you don't like oily treatments for your hair (and I perfectly understand why) then go with a conditioner. As a matter of fact, whatever treatment you use, always use a conditioner after you have washed your hair with shampoo. The shampoos with conditioner added are not good either.

A good conditioner has least or no amount of alchohol in it, and is essential for moisturing the hair. From what I have heard from most of the hair-industry professionals, the more moisture you have, the better it is.

Personally, I had never paid any attention to conditioners before. I always thought they are just another consumer-products gimmick to make more money but for past few months, I regularly use Pantene's and am very pleased with the results. Try it for couple of weeks to see if you like it.

As far as gel is concerned, a better subtitute is glaze. It's good to have greasy look once in a while in the evenings (for Summer days, it's a big no). Glaze is sorta lighter version of gel is not as sticky as well. Check out Paul Mitchell's glaze at your local salon (or is it saloon?? Xtreme, please confirm).

                            hey, I need help too,

my hair is really static. Its fine in the morning, then aroun 12ish, it just goes all static. I've tried everything from wax, mousse, to hairspray to make it less static

                            any advice?
