definition of a friend.

I was asked by a friend, to think about the definition of a friend, well, i thought about it all day yesterday, and most of the night...and have gotten no where. Never knew i would need to define friendship.

I always thought it was a bond between two ppl, where they trust one another, and care about each other. Someone you can say anything to without thinking twice, and know that they would understand, and wouldn't mind.

Everyone probably has there own opinion on what a friend is, so help me out here

Dost ko *define* kur diya tau mutlab *confine* kur diya
For me atleast, A friend is someone, who cant be defined, "Undifined". Will remain such till eternity !

PS: I haven't defined friendship even when I termed it as *undefined*

my mom told me this definition in urdu.

friend in urdu means dost which consists of letters daal, wao, seen, tay

daal = daimi (eternal)
wao = wafa (loyalty)
seen = sada (always)
tay = taza (fresh)

so it means daimi wafa jo sada taza rahay.

A friend is someone who loves you unconditionally.

Who accepts you and DOES NOT judge you. Someone whom you can be "you" with. You never have to pretend around them. An extension of yourself.

And of course when the world has put you down
The best you can do is make a frown
All the people looking at you are clowns
but a friend will reach his/hand and pick you up off the ground.

A Friend is a person who attracts us into the next world. This person is friendly regardless of circumstances. Who makes himself/herself vulnerable when giving advice. Someone with whom you can experience not only happiness but sufferings as well cuz suffering claims greater loyalties.
