Urdu Masters Program - Urgent

Someone I know is trying to find a masters program in urdu literature at a university in the US, NY universities prefered. If you know of a program, or can help find one, please respond.

Oxford University has an MA and well as Phd in Urdu..

they also have the leading professor on Ghalib.. interestingly enough he is a 'gora' Englishman. and speaks better Urdu than me and most of the Pakistanis I know or have met.

I believe in 95 I went to visit Pakistan and at that time they showed an interview by Moween Akhtar of someone from Britain (gora ofcourse). He had some sort of Phd in Urdu literature. His knowledge made me speechless.
I can understand the interests of a desi person, but I wonder what motivates people of the West to learn Urdu. And do they appreciate it to the extent that we do; or perhaps even more?

Ask your self In India with 150 million muslims whose one language is atleast urdu,is there a univ. in india with Urdu M.A. program.

Except for may be Aligarh,or Osmania there wont be another univ. in India with Urdu undergraduate program.
It may be easier to find needle in the haystack .Urdu is an orphan language,they end up beggers ,prostitute or adopted.

Hads it not been for bollywood,sahir,majrooh,kaifi,Javed would be too.
Plight of urdu is like Indian muslims , mere hi ghar ke Chraag ne khud, jala diya mera aashiyana.
