Drinking, have a GF but eat Halal??

Is it only me, or others have noticed it too, that:

There are desis who will Drink soo much that they can be considered alcoholics BUT yet they hate eating pork with a passion—and curse the "Americans" for doing so.

They will have a girl friend who is $!#@ as can be, BUT will bash those Pakistani (or Indian) girls who wear jeans—even if they have their head covered and everything.

They will go to a "dance party" breaking all the ethical & cultural codes and will act in the worst way possible BUT will refuse to eat anything there, as they ONLY eat Halal meat!!!

Hum, just wondering ... if anyone else has noticed it too ... http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/hoonh.gif

What about the person that doesn't have a GF, doesn't eat non-halal, doesn't drink, but also doesn't offer salat, keep fast or perform haj yet calls himself Muslim?

Is he a hypocrite too? And which is worse the one that drinks, has a GF but will only consume halal foods or the one I've described above?

                    BoSS,
Where were we when these internships were being allocated?

i agree that there r people that r like that! it's not the best way to present oneself, but we must remember that everyone will pay their dues on the day of judgement! let's not worry out pretty little heads with others flaws! let's just work on our own, because muzna has made a strong and valid point!

This discussion was not started with any intent to generalize, nor to point out certain individuals of their flaws in public. Rather it was a thought that I wanted to share.

Certainly the nature of people mentioned above, do exist, not necessary in the strict combinations of hypocrisies described but surely they are around.

The point was of the post was a reminder that maybe we all can look at our own selves and try to grow out of our own hypocrisies—little or big that we all have.

AND maybe if people who do act the way described in the initial post, read this message, it may help them open their eyes and "think" about their actions, or at least this post was a try ...

                        Peace!!

does anyone look at the split side of this situation. what if someone can do one thing right, or stop doing one wrong thing..is that not better than not making that change.

by this token all of us are hypocrates too as I seriously doubt anyone follows the religion completely, even if we try.

My view is that if a person has given up one vice, its better than not giving up that vice..and in the end its not going to be you or I passing judgement on the person.

What it also indicates is that whatever wrong the person is engaged in, he does have the ability to differentiate right from wrong and their is a possibility of reasoning with this person compared to someone who has no care or concern of right from wrong.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. And like that... he is gone.

Islam is a way of life. If one follows it, then they're true Muslims.
U cant just choose to follow some rules and disregard the rest.
Putting people in categories, those who have gf/bf vs. those who dont, for example, doesnt accomplish anything.
